For the price this is good value for money. It is comparatively easy to assemble if you are confident and have some practical skills. Some bits are "fiddly" Other reviewers have commented on the glass as thin and easy to break. I didn't find that problem so the glass may have been upgraded. I'd estimate 3mm thick and the edges had been smoothed although I wouldn't run your fingers down the edge with too much enthusiasm.One entertaining "gotcha" was that i could not find the bottom finial I knew I'd see it somewhere but could not recall where! Searched the workbench, looked on the floor and then remembered that the finial was temporarily screwed to the inside of the bottom of the lantern to save space on packing. I should have looked there in the first place

Very nice item

Bought to replace a very old one, the guy that fitted it commented that the old one was far better quality, but sadly that is the way of the world. It does the job, looks good so I'm happy
