As other reviewers have said, this certainly isn't free, and it's full of compromises. The UK support number for registering doesn't work, so you have to register by e-mail. But it won't let you register with certain e-mail addresses (such as the mail.com address I use). When you do register, you'll have to give your credit or debit card details and opt out of what you don't want, and you'll need to credit your account in order to use a free plan. After all that, to make calls you have to use an app rather simply dialling numbers as normal. That app will track what you're doing, who you're calling, and goodness knows what else. At best, Freedompop just isn't worth the hassle. At worst, it's a security risk. Avoid like the plague!!

Definitely not as bad as people make it seem. you've just got to understand how to use it.

Not free as advertised. Various monthly options but to activate sim have to choose a monthly fee of between £8 and £20 and then change the plan. I've now got £3.49 monthly which is good value but not what was advertised

I brought this specifically for a PAYG backup. When you login to activate, your forced intoa premium £ 11.99 a month after 30 days free trial. NOT IMPRESSED the packaging clearly offers the free tier.The web URL does not offer what it says on the package.

They do not offer the free plan as is advertised, plans from £5 per month but are not as competitive as others. I purchased with the hope to use on a GPS tracker, but SMS does not work on those devices. I will try GiffGaff next.
