Better than the FlexSeries Freebird
I've been thinning up top and decided to take the plunge and be a bald guy. I previously ordered the FlexSeries Freebird. It was great, my first experience went well. But after using it a couple weeks, it was turning on and off all by itself so I had to send it back.Enter the Remington Balder Deluxe. I noticed right away this thing is a little more hefty, and it chews through hair a lot more smoothly. You can just tell by how the motors spin up, there is an audible difference between the two razors. I would liken it to a mower; some mowers you can plow through tall grass and the motor will bog down, other mowers blast right through it with hardly a pitch change to the motor. This is the comparison I would make between the Balder Deluxe and the Freebird.I don't get the razor bumps on the back of my head like I did with the Freebird. And with the extra gear (the 2nd button that turns the motors faster) I can get the job done pretty quickly. For reference, I shave about every other day and I do it in the shower with a Cremo shaving lotion. I have blond hair that has a regular thickness to it. I'm only balding a little on top in the back. So I don't have super thick wiry hair or anything. Now, as far as packaging and presentation goes, the Freebird wins hands down. Really cool box and instructions, really nice case. A+ on marketing. But if the device doesn't last, all of the fancy packaging is for nothing. The Balder Deluxe came with a weak looking case and no other accessories, but it gets the job done.

First electric razor? Read this
For context I have razor shaved my head for roughly 10 years this is my experience. First thing is this is not a razor and the blades don't touch your skin so the shave is not going to be the same. There maybe some spots where there is a stubble no matter how hard you try. This does have a battery cut off feature when there is too much strain on the battery. Too much pressure on the blades straines the battery so physical down force and amount of hair, play a factor in this. For me every other day and a light touch is how I have gotten away from it shutting off on me. A circular shave pattern has helped alot with a better shave. I use 70% isopropyl alcohol on my head before I shave, I have found it slides better. I'm just assuming it's from my skin oils being dried out. It does seem more complex but no shaving cream, rinsing, nicks/cuts and no hair all over the place makes it worth it for a regular maintenance shave. As another commenter has mentioned I have also gotten razor burn on my neck and haven't figured out how to stop it, maybe sensitive skin? With that being said I will still use a regular razor for special events but just a regular maintenance shave I am sold.

Was great....when it worked, then it died within 2 weeks
Was working fine for a couple of weeks, then it stopped working, wouldn't run on, would recharge it, would turn on for seconds, then it would stop. This is the second unit i buy with the same flaw. They have an amazing product once it works, but the electrical issue its beyond annoying.

Daily Maintenance
Good for daily maintenance. For going out on the town, you will need a closer shave. As others have said, this will almost scrape the back of your neck. It will burn for several days. Be careful!

Shaves extremely well.
Husband loves it as he used it for the first time today. Marvelous. Great shave performance.

Just abysmal disappointment
Remington put my old shaver in the corner. First shave out of the box took half the time with half the effort for a noticeably closer shave. Batter came almost fully charged. Mine finished charging after about 5 minutes. My only complaints is that the detachable head uses plastic prongs to to hold it to the razor and the power cord is USB-A to a proprietary plug instead of USB-A to USB-C. This is a first use review and will be updated as needed.Update: i made the mistake of oiling the shaving heads with the provided lubricant. This will create a clog which has been impossible for me to get out. So I have to buy a new shave head😢Update: It jams alot when it is less than full charge. I use canned air to blow the heads clean. The battery life is horrendous. I have to charge multiple times a week.Update: i dry shave with it daily. Every single shave has to be done twice with a blast of compressed air for each rotar between or else is end up with a fuzzy carpet instead of baby buttocks smooth like I like it. I would definitely not have bought this shaver considering the teoible it gives me. I miss my cheap unbranded shaver.

It’s OK.
I purchased this razor last year (see my review in this listing: https://a.co/d/0hUmKsD) and ended up retuning it versus it wasn’t quite what I wanted. It also tore up the back of my neck. Fast forward to one year later, I’m suffering from a case of folliculitis and just tired of the irritation caused by my Schick blades (despite the close shaves). I have been re-trying electric razors and decided to give this one more try, and after one use, I regret it.I don’t think it’s as bad as some other reviewers have said, but I also don’t think it’s that good. It’s seems durable, and it gives a decently close shave. But, it definitely irritated the back of my neck again, and I felt that the blades are a little rough on my skin overall, even with shave gel.I’ve also tried the Microtouch Titanium, FlexSeries Pro, Pitbull Gold, and Palm Shaver. I think out of all of them, the FlexSeries Pro was the best and most gentle, and I’m waiting for that to arrive (again) as I type this!

Works Well
I used to shave my head with a blade. Figured I'd same time & effort if I tried an electric head shaver. Read the reviews and settled on the Remington with titanium blades. Trial & error. Dry shave, no. Wet shower shave, still not good. Shower shave with shaving cream, that's the ticket. Works OK with Edge canned cream, but it's best with Cremo, or other similar creams that come in a tube. With the tubed cream my head shaves are as close as a blade but faster, safer and easier.
