Worked well when needed to use it, due to where the router was in the living room got poor wifi upstairs using the laptops built in WiFi, bought this and worked great,easy to set up and speeds increased as well

Very unreliable. It was difficult to connect, but once I connected it, it worked for a day, then it stopped and I could not get it to work again... I tried re installing drivers, flushing DNS, re-routing it, absolutely everything. Very poor software

So this works well - great in fact. Just plug and play pretty much, although make sure you download the latest driver.For people like me who have split out their 2.4 and 5ghz bands and use the latest Windows 11 update (24H2) - you may need to amend a setting for this to work on 5ghz.This was working perfect until I updated to 24H2, but then stopped for no reason even though I could connect to 2.4ghz networks without issue. I managed to figure out how to sort it though thankfully-Go to Device ManagerNetwork Adaptersright click ‘TP link Wireless USB Adapter’, click propertiesClick ‘Advanced’, then select ‘5G Wireless Mode’In the dropdown list, select the one second from the bottom - IEEE 802.11a/n/acThis fixed my issue immediately after spending a considerable amount of time doing every other network troubleshooting steps possible.Hope this helps!

Exceptional device, but does not work on Samsung TV. Too bad.

A bit overpriced for what it does.Very poor instructions especially if you have had a previous wifi device with its own drivers. This does not automatically install any drivers.Settings may need to be changed in particular with connecting to 5ghz wifi.Thanks to Mike in the review section here who pointed out that you may need to change a setting in device manager of the PC in the advanced properties for this device. After 2 hours troubleshooting I gave up and started reading the reviews here and found the solution.Thanks Mike .

This dongle actually doubled my Internet speed. I don't know internally how my router works or how the broadband company set it up, but the broadband company gives 1GB. I think this is limited though to roughly 250MB per connection. So with 2 WiFi connections, one built into my laptop and the other with this TP-Link dongle, my Internet is doubled and it feels so much faster loading or download large files.The only criticism I have for this is that the instructions were a little unclear. The instructions say to connect the dongle, open the containing folder, and run the installer. It then says to connect the dongle, which I thought meant to connect the dongle to my inbuilt WiFi.But it actually means to connect the dongle to your router. When the dongle is set up, one will see "WiFi 2" (see pic) in their network settings or in the WiFi settings in the taskbar (see pic). This is the connection where one needs to connect to their router for the TP-Link dongle to work. You will need the password for this, as Windows 11 doesn't seem smart enough to know one is connecting to the same network with the same password on a different WiFi connection.

Worked fine for a couple of months but now the 5G connection doesn't work at all, forcing me to use the much slower 2.4G.

I was dubious about this device, after having several USB wifi adapters before. While, as ever, an Ethernet connection is always the best for the fastest speed possible, sometimes that isn't always possible and that applies here. After doing some more research into this device and reviewing other websites' reviews on this, I decided to buy it - I've not been disappointed! - The difference in speed is remarkable, after pulling no more than 250-300mb download on the previous USB3.0 wifi adapter, this is now giving me double that, comfortably.If you're have a decent piece of kit, perhaps one of the best USB3.0 wifi adapters then definitely purchase this, you won't be dissapointed.
