Not good for super fresh newbs like myself

The first "recipe" tells you to "cast 4 stitches" as the first step. "Cast"?? Am I going fishing? What is a "stitch" and how do I "cast" one, nevermind 4? What's a "purl"? What is a stitch "gauge", and why do I measure it?This instruction booklet certainly isn't explaining things for beginners, and I am completely lost. Maybe if I find something that explains how to cast a stitch, I can finally break into this hobby? This thing need more pictures and knowledge for sure. Womp womp.
