Habitnest: the Nutrition Journal
I recently purchased the Nutrition Sidekick journal and so far I am really loving it. Why, you may ask? Well I’m what I refer to as nutritionally ignorant. This journal broke down very basic information about for example, good fats v bad fats (and includes examples). I can look these up online but having the journal makes it convenient as all that I need is in one place. The journal is super cute too! There is some math when calculating your macros. But the customer service is wicked awesome. I love the tips and daily challenges as I need that type of motivation to stay on track when trying to eat healthy. It’s already helping me to change my attitude about getting healthy. I love it! So far I’ve lost 6lbs!

Eating healthy
I have been using the Fat Loss & Nutrition Sidekick Journal for about a week now. I feel happier, stronger, more focused, and energized. I keep the journal with me most of the day and find myself using it throughout the day to log water intake and track progress. The journal is like a friend who gives me accountability, information and motivation to make good decisions about what and how much food to eat every day. One of the helpful "Pro-Tips" the book gave me early on to control hunger was splitting my meals into two halves and eating them within a short time period. The book encourages mindfulness, prompting me to ask myself questions like, "If I made this choice everyday, would I be a lot closer to my goals, or a lot further?" And reminding me of important things like, "Small, consistent victories add up quickly" and it is OK to waste food! throwing food into the trash so I do not overeat. It is helping me build a habit of eating healthy! I wasn't perfect my first week. I did overeat one of the days and the journal was there for me reminding me that I don't have to feel hopeless forever as long as I continue to believe in myself and make a real effort everyday.

So far so good...
I've only used the journal for a few days, but I really like it so far. I love the quality and the color of the book. The paper is very nice and takes fountain pen ink just fine (if that matters to you - it does to me). My only wish would be that the food planning area would be a bit larger. I have large handwriting, and if you are planning an entire meal, there isn't much room to write it all out. Other than that, I've loved the tips and the intro material - now, if it would just make the food for me so I wouldn't stray off course. :)

A little to much on the literature portions
I think this book is great for those just starting out on their nutrition journey. It has great nutritional content. I wanted more of a ‘food log’ type of journal, and while there is room for that, too much space is taken up with nutrional verbiage , goal setting and motivation. If that’s what you are looking for then this is perfect for you!

Excellent guidance and Journal
I started with their weightlifting journal (FANTASTIC) and have recently moved on to this. If you want to really learn how to fuel or even to learn how you currently eat- this is an excellent tool. Informative and easy to follow. There is a lot of math involved- but it is a great journey.

Great habit starter!
I love everything about this journal. Size, green cover color, paper quality, daily challenges, pro-tips, success stories, affirmations and space to write food plan, goals, potential obstacles for the day and a reflection on how you can improve your nutrition for the next day. This is no plain journal, this is jam packed with tips, tricks and ideas. A great tool for accountability and building better nutrition habits. Love it!

Love these journals!
This is my second Habit Nest journal and I've loved them both. Things to love - sturdy construction and high quality, thick paper; has an intro laying out the purpose/science behind the journal; has different phases that change as you progress. I started to experiment with calorie counting but realized that didn't work for me, so personalized with my own annotations. Found it very helpful to write down what I was eating and reflect on what was improving or challenging. Writing down my goals tends to be very motivating for me. Highly recommend if you want to really reflect/analyze your own nutrition and/or try new methods for improving your diet. The company is also awesome! Each journal always has a free gift hidden in the pages with an email address. I've rec'd a personal response back each time which is very cool.

I love this journal! it's been very helpful for me from the information given in the beginning to all the tips/success stories they give everyday. I have learned things from this book that I use everyday now when deciding meals and making choices about the food I eat. Its helpful to write things down and really see what changes you need to make or just to see how well you are actually doing! I struggle with binge eating and some how this book has prevented me from doing that for 2 weeks now. I couldn't be happier with this purchase it's worth the money if you need guidance or just love to write things out, and see the changes you are making. RECOMMEND for sure!

Enjoyed that I could take a few minutes to focus at the beginning of each day to think about and plan the day ahead - nice to put pen to paper in an increasingly phone driven world. Great book, good ideas, 256 pages. Lots of hints and tips to keep on track. I personally think its great.

I have already done a nutrition course so wasn't too sure how much I would learn, but needed some structure to implementing good habits. However I was wrong, so many umique ideas and goals to sour you on. I look forward to every new page and have found myself trying new foods and enjoying new ways of achieving nutritional goals.

It makes you accountable for the food you eat. The more you journal, the more you inherently become mindful while eating or choosing food you want to eat. It’s not just a weight loss guide, it makes you eat healthy food in a mindful way.

Absolutely love this journal, it only takes a few minutes of your day to track your meals etc and always has great tips on how to stay on track...
