Lundberg Farms USDA ORGANIC Short Brown Rice Gluten Free 12 LB

This is my favorite rice and it cooks up nicely in my rice cooker. I used in risotto and it was delicious but I was stirring longer.

This rice is similar to the flame broiler one. It's a little costly but should last a good amount of time.

I like that the product is a whole grain organic rice product. It has good taste and I substitute white rice with this product. I feel this is a healthier choice in brown rice. While the price has been increasing, it seems worth it. I like to buy from family owned companies and small businesses, but it has been harder to find lately. We use it in stuffed peppers, as a side dish with vegetables, and add it to our homemade dog food for our Bernese Mountain dog for fiber and nutrients. My chef husband makes a special recipe for our girl. Overall, very happy with this product.

The arsenic content of brown rice is largely unregulated in the U.S. outside California, except for infant rice cereal. Even in California, the reference level for brown rice is 170 ppb. Independent testing shows some U.S. brown rice exceeds 300 ppb inorganic arsenic. Inorganic arsenic is a known toxin, and long-term consumption at higher levels is associated with increased risks of cancer, cardiovascular disease, neurological impairment, and type 2 diabetes.

I have been eating this rice for several years. This last bag I ordered was completely infested with weevils. Dead and alive. Crawling out of the rice. It is gross and turned me off this rice completely. It wasn’t one or two. It was an infestation. Waste of my money. Return window has passed and I had to throw it away we were all so turned off.
