This is my favorite flashlight . . . I carry and use it almost every day.
100/100I “live in my preps”. I’m not really a “prepper” . . . I just live like my grandparents and great grandparents. I preserve food because. I have things I need during emergencies because.I have a LOT of flashlights. They are everywhere. Of course, I always have my favorite . . . and they change. THIS is now my EDC favorite. It’s in my pocket during the day. It’s next to me at night when I’m in bed. I use it.Why? What makes it my favorite? Well. Number one . . . it’s got a MASTER SWITCH! You can flip that switch and no matter what button you push, it’s not coming on. That means no accidental battery drain. Number two . . . a single press of the “control button” lights the white light. A second press and it gets brighter. A third press and it gets very bright. Press again, and it fades out. You can SEE with this light! Number three . . . hold down the “control button” and the RED light comes on. You can SEE at NIGHT without ruining your night vision! A press of the button and the red light fades out. Number four . . . It’s USB rechargeable! Number five . . . it fits perfectly in your hand. It’s perfectly palm sized. It’s only 300 lumens, so it’s not as bright as a lantern, etc. . . . but it’s more than enough for a handheld flashlight.Ultimately, is it worth the price? Yes

Flat profile for EDC, IPX8 for the best water resistance.
AMPEX Rechargeable Flashlight | 300 Lumen LED Flashlight Perfect for Your Hiking Backpack with Waterproof Tactical Performance. Rechargeable Flashlights are Essential Camping Accessories.Okay, I have enough flashlights and don't need any more, said nobody ever. I could not pass on this opportunity, it claims to be IPX8. That means it can with stand immersion in not just water but even nasty chemical contaminated water and that even if the flashlight leaks it is still supposed to work just fine. The flat profile and size is perfect for the pocket. It has a sliding switch on the back you have to move before you can activate the pushbutton to turn the flashlight which provides accidental use. The controls are simple and intuitive to use and also has a red light. A plus for me is that is no strobe functions to scroll through. Every button press gives you an actual usable light without having to scroll through a bunch of silly strobe settings to get there.Thank you for reading my review and looking at my photos of this product. I hope you found it helpful!REVIEW PHILOSOPHY: I only review a product if it is something I am capable of critically evaluating through comparison, testing and use. This means I have experience of using similar items; or that I have equipment or tools that I can test it with; or that I have an upcoming need so I can actually use. I am as selective about getting an item to review as I would be about purchasing that same item, so yes, I expect it to be a good product. My reviews are NOT based on packaging or if it was delivered timely.

Excellent flash light
I definitely like the size and features of this flashlight. Only thing that I would change would be the red light (like the white light) have a high and low beam.

Perfect light for hiking, camping, astronomy, reading maps/book, etc.
- I love this flashlight! It is lightweight, weighing only 2.3 ounces (65 grams) with the strap, and slides into any pocket (3-1/4” x 2-1/8” x 5/8”)- The moonlight mode is a low-lumen mode that won’t hinder your night vision. This low light mode is excellent for camping, reading maps, astronomy, drone flying, or anything at night where you want to keep your night vision intact. It is also great for reading a book before bed.- There are 4 other light modes: low, med, high (300 lumens), and red.- Recharging is done via a USB-C power cord (included) and charges up the battery quickly- Right next to the power port is a lock-out switch. This prevents the light from accidentally getting turned on while in a pocket, purse, or backpack. I wish more flashlights had this feature.- The rubber button is easy to press, even with gloves on.- Unfortunately, there are 3 things I dislike. 1) there is no info on the lumen levels or battery size, 2) there is no way to replace the battery, and 3) It isn’t designed to mount to a hat. Minor irritations, but something one thinks of when camping.- This would make a nice gift for the holidays or special occasion. The above review is for Ampex rechargeable flashlight.

Good Light, Not-so-Good Price
This 300-lumen flashlight from AMPEX is decent, but considering other items in the marketplace, it is not a compelling value at its current price ($29.99 at the time of this review). The nicely-designed product package sets you up to anticipate a premium item, but the flashlight is not quite there. I have a Nitecore Tip SE which has served me well for years: it has a max output of 700 lumens and an aluminium shell that gives it a premium feel. Conversely, the AMPEX has a plastic shell -- while I knew it was plastic when I ordered it, it looks a bit cheap in person (it would have probably looked better if it was as small as the Nitecore). I could be wrong, but the AMPEX also feels like it's partly empty; it weighs 2.2 ounces and feels like it could have housed a larger battery. To be fair: despite the plastic, the AMPEX is not flimsy; I've had it in my back pocket and sat on a hard surface without ill effect. But... Having bought similarly-sized aluminium flashlights for as low as $12, I can't help but think that it's priced too high.My concerns with price vs look and feel notwithstanding, I ordered this because it does have some desirable qualities: I have many flashlights which are much brighter than this one, but 300 lumens is "just right" for many situations where accidentally selecting the wrong setting on a brighter light could blind somebody. In both the white and red light modes, the AMPEX casts a fairly uniform beam -- it's not the best I've seen, but it's not bad. Being able to turn in on directly to red light mode is convenient, and, having had a flashlight die in my pocket before, the lockout switch is a welcome feature. If the AMPEX offers the specific set of features that you're looking for, you probably won't regret your purchase -- but you'll definitely feel better about it if you catch it on sale.
