I got the fiberglass option and it is exactly what I was looking for in a gaff. We don’t do any saltwater fishing but use it for pulling up pike/musky/sturgeon while ice spearing. After pulling up a 30lb musky, it never once seemed like this gaff couldn’t handle it. It is very lightweight and the bag it comes in makes it very easily portable without worrying it will get tangled up in the rest of my gear. Can’t wait to use it for big salmon in Lake Michigan this year!

Seems to be well built. Decided to go with a fiberglass instead of the aluminum ones. My last aluminum one broke on a cobia. This one should give me many years of service.

Definitely a heavy gaff dont know if it will float
