This tool arrived two days ago. Due to recent rains, our normally neat yards had a surfeit of weeds and dandelions. Having read all the glowing reviews on this tool, I could not wait to get outside and try it. Within about 15 minutes of its delivery, nearly every weed in my front yard was GONE!!INITIAL RESULTS:I cannot believe how easily this tool yanked out dandelions, thistles, clover, etc., out of our soft soil.ROOTS:Does this weeder always remove the entire tap root? No, sometimes a root breaks off. I do not see this as a problem. I got the entire visible part of the weed out in about 2 seconds. Now it will take that weed weeks to grow back, if it ever grows back at all....at which time I will, in 2 seconds, extract it again!USE ON HARD DRY GROUND:This tool works better when soil is wet, or at least soft. Dry hard clay? Not so good, since the claws need to pierce the dirt. I could see somebody breaking it if they tried to force it into the adobe soil hard enough.BREAKAGE:Users’ reports of breakage concerned me somewhat, but I have not managed to break this tool so far. What are these folks complaining about? If it breaks, it has a FULL LIFETIME WARRANTY.It says this right on the handle.And I will insist on Amazon’s satisfaction guarantee. If that doesn’t work, I bought it with my VISA and will invoke their purchase protection.THIS THING IS ACTUALLY FUN.I have never owned another dandelion digging tool that was so fast and effective. It is so light and easy, it is actually FUN to dig weeds! It had my entire front lawn (and most of my flower beds) weeded in about 15 minutes after I opened the box. It weeded my entire backyard two days later. There is almost no fatigue, and very little bending over. It pulls the weed and roots out, and then you just “chuh-chunk” the handle (like a pump shotgun) to “eject” the weed into a basket. Buh-bye!! I love it.NOTE: Sometimes the weed comes out with an ounce.or two of soil attached, leaving a little crater behind. I just re-water the area and it looks fine. I see no way weeds will be able to grow fast enough to keep up with me and my new Fiskars weeder. Not unless it breaks on me...in which case, I will get another one!! See below....WARRANTY!There is actually a sticker right on the handle that says:"FULL LIFETIME WARRANTY: This product is warranted to be free of defects in material and workmanship for as long as the original consumer owns the product."In other words, this tool seems to have a strong warranty. I do not see how I could ever be upset over it breaking, if that means I can just get a brand new one for free. I’ve been happily showing it to my neighbors and many friends. I don't often give 5 stars, but at this point, I could hardly be more delighted with it. Wow - what a game changer! Five Stars Isn’t Enough -- This Thing Is a Garden Miracle! First off, I'm 68 and have been battling weeds for years — bending, kneeling, digging, yanking, and cursing under my breath -- and then this tool came along and changed everything.From the very first pull, I was in awe. I stepped on the foot platform, felt those 4 stainless steel claws sink into the earth, and in one graceful motion — up came the entire weed, roots and all. No snapping. No re-sprouting. Just sweet, clean, weed-free victory. Dandelions? Gone. Crabgrass? Banished. Creeping, deep-rooted nightmares? Obliterated in seconds. And here's the kicker -- I didn't bend over once! My back, knees, and dignity remain in tact!Fiskars' design is pure genius: ergonomic handle, perfect height, satisfying spring-loaded ejection system that spits the weed out into a nearby lawn bag. I don’t know what kind of wizardry went into the development of this tool, but my hat's off to the team that brought this about. Fiskars has managed to create something so effective, so easy, and so downright fun that I find myself looking for weeds just for the joy of pulling them.

This is the best weed puller I've ever used. I have a home on a 3 acre yard that was once a farm field. Needless to say the weeds have been a continuous struggle, especially crabgrass, dallis grass, and goose grass. I have been doing chemical warfare on my yard since we moved in 3 years ago, and have Bermuda growing nicely on about 80% of the yard at this point. However, even with 2 applications of prodiamine pre-emergent every year, and numerous chemicals, some of the weeds are resilient and keep returning, especially in some spots. I bought this tool on the assumption that it might work, and it was worth a try. I'm not kidding, this thing works great. It removes the entire weed and the handy release button works great. I have filled several wheelbarrows full of weeds in my affected areas. A hint, you might want to also have some top soil just to fill in some of the larger holes it leaves as it rips out the roots and all. I don't really do reviews, but i thought the manufacturer would like to know that I am impressed so far. I've used it many times and it is holding up well so far.

Its a great tool. I had one before this for years. It could be improved a little if it had a wider base blade.. maybe but those are hard to find. I've seen review videos that rate this highly say a few others can do as well or better with a wider scooplike blade, but I couldn't find any available to get at a decent quality this time around. One note, don't leave these outside in the rain. Long term thats what killed my old one. Theres a metal spine inside the fiberglass handle that eventually rusted to the point where the handle bent over. After ya few summers of heavy use the foot lever can break. But we're talking use in compacted rocky ground and far beyond what I would expect of a tool. I shaped some steel plates to go on either side and bolted them using the stock holes, and went on to another several years of use. So this will definitely work on weeds better than most tools. Even when abused it will last for years and can be repaired to last even longer. Great tool.Oh yea if you loosen the roots with a slight motion. Reposition and then pull the bigger weeds it will remove a lot less soil.

This tool saved my back! Our weeds were out of control this year, and the Fiskars weed puller made tackling them so much easier. No more bending over or digging with my hands—I could just step, twist, and pull.It grips weeds (even the stubborn ones) really well, and I love that it’s super easy to use and gentle on my body. Definitely one of the best garden tools I’ve bought. If you’ve got a weedy yard and a sore back, this thing is a game changer!
