These brackets are very thick, sturdy and strong. Excellent quality too

Strong, good value anchor points for hydraulic shocks. Worked well. Seem to be plated to reduce corrosion but not stainless, so could still rust. Protect them with a corrosion resistant coating spray.

Much sturdier mount for the shocks. Looking forward to see how long it lasts vs the stock mounts.

I have a somewhat-vintage car that uses a very-vintage prop rod to hold the hood open. How quaint! But also less than convenient. These brackets allow for a lot of flexibility in fitting gas struts for the duty, with both flat and angled bases in the set. The steel in the bases is more than sufficient for holding up the aluminum hood. Holes are conveniently sized for the 6mm fasteners I'll use to attach them. Fortuitously, the car they get installed on is silver, so no need to paint them.I'll share back pictures when I get the cylinders spec'd and installed.Got a project that deserves some gas cylinders to make opening and closing more convenient? These are a great solution, especially where you need to spread the load out some vs. mounting a ball stud directly to your work pieces. I've played with threaded Nutsert/Rivnut inserts and with washers with locknuts to hold the ball studs directly, and quickly decided that these brackets will allow a lot more flexibility plus will be a lot stronger in the aluminum hood and supports.Handy, inexpensive and convenient, and will do the job well for me. Just what I was looking for!

These 10mm ball stud brackets worked perfectly for adding gas struts to the lid of a trailer storage box that somehow didn't come with them. No rust or defects, they look exactly like what is shown in the listing.
