From t he first day i bought it i play music with it everyday, Headphones work the best with this, its for beginner djs, its very inexpensive, the construction is great its solid fun, i bought a different controller i dj live by ion, it broke the next day (it was cheaply made).its a great Christmas gift for all ages especially young kids who have to learn and explore music. I am a DJ and have been for a few years now. I love to scratch, I love to use turntables. I just overall love mixing music, and this portable beast makes my love for mixing even better in the go. MY friends love to come over to my dorm room and mix music with me. It is a great piece of equipment. I recommend this to anyone who is getting just getting started, or any professional who is just needing something on the go.The program I wish was better but you can port this Controller to Virtual DJ Pro easily.

Although it is much smaller than expected , it sure delivers great ! I am completely satisfied with this controller. Like everything in life it has its good and bad but for beginners or even intermidate DJ's like me this is one of the best controllers out there to start with. I did my research and many sources proved this to be a great start. Even though its small the apperance is very catchy and the buttons and knobs are well made. Very easy to understand . Best part is its compatible with almost any DJ software out there. I currently use it with 'Mixxx' and works perfect . Overall it is a fascinating controller and in my opinion since this controller is very limited to its physical controls as it only has the most basic controls it definately requires much skill to be able to create smooth mixes. Im an edm DJ and with this contoller I can come up with creative techniques and moves and much more to make this simple and basic controller work as if it was a professional one . I definately recommend this one to any DJs who want to begin their passion of DJing or for intermediate DJs who wish to have this as a backup or to keep it for small parties so the setups arent a hassle. It's not a $300 console, so don't expect to get all of the features of a high end controller. But the features that are here work well. The enclosure is tight, buttons are solid and the lighted indicators are legible but not over-bearing in a dark setting.The pressure sensitive jogs work acceptably well, but if you're a hard core turn-tablist then keep looking. There are some features that I would look for in my next purchase (pitch sliders, channel gain knobs, a few other bells and whistles), but I can count on paying twice as much to get them.The integrated 4 channel sound device is sweet. Most higher end devices don't include this and if you're on a laptop that means you are either buying MORE hardware or using the integrated sound card which is probably 2 channel only. With this set up i can actually run 6 independent sound channels, though I typically only use the RCA outs on the console for mains and the console headphone jack for my headphones.Others have complained about the included software... I can't comment on that because I haven't used it. But I can say the included drivers work with Mixxx without issue.

This product is great for beginners, i have had this thing for several days its good, the only reason that I gave it a three star is because the dj software needs more work, I did update the software but needs a little more work, at first the program did not recognize any of my music(I saw the comment that said this) but later I downloaded itunes for my pc and move all my music to itunes, now it works flawless.

This is an excellent controller for anyone looking to jump into DJing. I am a oldskool cat that learned how to mix on 2 turntables & mixer. I put down my hobby for some years ago and really missed it.So I started to look into this new world to see if I could regain my love for music again. After reading multiple reviews I settled on Hercules DJ control Instinct. I am very happy with the choice that I have made, the software bundled with controller is the full version. And most important the set up was very easy, out the box I was up and running under 10 minutes. Keep this in mind that this is a starter controller and does not have alot of extra functions. But if you wanted to throw a party you could do so with this controller and do very well with it. I am certain that I may move on to another controller, but for now I am really loving this controller.

Using a windows 7 PC. Tried installing the drivers from the CD, it doesn't work. Sound is distorted, and computer tells me drivers won't install. There's nothing wrong with my computer. Nothing else has problems on it. Well I'll be giving it a try tomorrow again but if it doesn't work I will be leaving this review the way it is. And returning the controller. Thing is a lot tinier than it looks in pictures too. Pathetic.

I have an ASUS all in one with USB 3.0 and Windows 8.1 and I could never get this to work. I did some research on it and you need to install the DJ controller drivers first and then the DJUCED software. THIS IS NOT IN THE INSTRUCTIONS. Also, the CD that comes with it does not contain the latest version of the software so you need to call the support number in there and they will help you with getting to their website and downloading the correct versions. It was time consuming installing and uninstalling the software multiple times for it not to work at the end... It is unfortunate because I see plenty of good reviews and seems to offer great value for the price and that's the reason I got it since I am just trying to get started in this whole DJ stuff... I love music and I just could not play it! I hope you have better luck than I did if you decide to buy it.
