This is a different sort of prayer book. The author uses contemporary language and concepts. I love all of the various intentions from which to choose. The typeset is easy to read. The prayers are a perfect length to allow for simple contemplation. The energy of Divine Love that is shared in the book is so inspirational The author truly allowed the Holy Spirit to speak to us through his writings. This will be one of my daily prayer and meditation companions. Thank you Hur for such a lovely book.

I love prayer books. Kierkegaard and Tersteegen are my favorites, but I’m always looking for a good one. In Prayers to the Holy Spirit, Hur Horton has created a first rate volume of prayers. Prayer books must be sincere above all. Horton’s sincerity is unassailable. It’s obvious that many of these prayers were created in moments of despair or loneliness or pain or anger or crushing disappointment or other moments of quiet desperation. There’s nothing contrived or artificial in these naked pleas for strength, faith, patience, compassion and many other virtues Christian look to the Holy Spirit to help them with. I’ll be looking to this lovely book for consolation for many years to come.

This is a nice collection of short, uplifting prayers. They are well organized and easy to find what I was looking for.

I have read Prayers to the Holy Spirit and it is exactly what I was looking for. Every prayer has its own section. You can find the prayer you are looking for and click it in the index and read it. The prayers are short, not too long. They are encouraging and uplifting and helps you move towards what you are looking for. This book is well organized and easy to read.

What a wonderful prayer guide, putting vocabulary on matters so diverse that I do not normally think of, like praying for the environment, charity, resolve and vigilance. This is a book to go back to even when you are down and don't know what to say to God. The prayers are short and precise, can do them on the go.It is definitely for keeps.

As people joke-- I grew up knowing the Father, the Son, and the Holy Bible. But by God's grace, I was introduced to the third person of the Trinity, The Holy Spirit, just couple years ago. This book will help you know Him as a person, become aware of the Spirit's presence in you, and involve Him in every aspect of your life. I love how you get to know the different names and titles of the Holy Spirit as you pray these prayers. This is a wonderful handbook that covers many prayer topics and will ultimately help you draw closer to the Holy Spirit!

The prayers are short, about a paragraph each, serving as beautiful guides to petition the Lord’s presence and intervention. I really wished to see the scripture that inspired each prayer for deeper reflection and connection.

This will benefit the person who hasn't learned how to pray from the heart quite yet, or for the person who desires guided prayers to help with their words to the Creator. I'd call these more like "prayer starters" that get you on your way. The Holy Spirit is God & Lord of the Church. As such, He is ready to come alongside the believer to help him/her grow and reflect His heart to a world needing the life-giving Salvation that comes only through Jesus.
