Works great and great customer service.
The product arrived damaged, but after some effort, Amazon resolved the issue. The whetstone itself is excellent, and I have no complaints about it.

Beware brokenness
Other customers have reported broken stones and boxes. My box was cracked and within an hour a piece of it came off. The stone itself was fine except for a very small chip that I smoothed out.

Good, but not what I expected from Naniwa
I purchased this stone to complete the full range of the Naniwa Chosera series. Some sharpening enthusiasts mention that the Naniwa Gouken Arata series is a lighter version of the Naniwa Chosera with the same formulation, so I decided to try the Gouken Arata #10000. I’ve been using the Naniwa Chosera line for quite some time, and the highest grit I own in this series is the #5000. The Chosera stones have never disappointed me in any of their versions. As for the Gouken Arata #10000, I’ve tested it a couple of times with a Tojiro Damascus knife and another made of AUS8 steel, but I didn’t notice a significant improvement in sharpness when moving from the Chosera #5000 to the Gouken Arata #10000. The Gouken Arata #10000 feels a bit hard and dry, even after soaking it in water for quite a while. The sharpening experience is quite different from the Naniwa Chosera line, which makes me doubt whether the Gouken Arata really shares the same formulation. Perhaps I need to test the Gouken Arata #10000 with other steels to form a more conclusive opinion. However, for now, I’m giving it 4 stars, since the sharpening feel and final edge quality are not quite what one would expect from a Naniwa stone rated at #10000 grit.
