Birding With Bill Oddie: A practical guide to birdwatching

I love Birding. Really bought this to discover info on Hampstead Heath, my local patch. The book was written in 1995 and whilst useful really needs updating. Also no means of contacting the publisher or Bill Oddie's agent (who provide an address for a signed autograph!) Whilst I love Bill Oddie's work, I mean, really? (No offence Bill but would rather meet you on the Heath and show you where the kestrels hang out)

Good book overall, I especially enjoyed the chapter by Bill on his local 'patch'.

To say its a Oddie book on birds, it was not what I expected, instead of photos of birds to recognise it is more about feeding and getting birds in your garden, only looked at it on day it arrived and not looked at it since over a month, good job it was cheap.

This is an ideal book for anyone who has started taking up Birdwatching. It is in 2 sections, The First Section is the getting started aspects getting the right binoculars, telescopes, clothing etc by Stephen Moss the producer of the TV Series. The Second Section features a year round diary by Bill Oddie on his local patch Hamspstead Heath followed by stories of Wild Geese Chases, Bird Races & family holidays it is a very good read by one of our well known birdwatchers.
