Great CMC support
I sprained something using a very strong cordless drill and a hole saw. I tried a regular thumb brace, but it didn’t help much. After some Investigation, I figured out that it was my CMC (Carpal-metacarpal) joint, the joint just above the wrist. My other 2 thumb joints were fine. (I suspect this is an unusual injury, there are many mentions and braces for “gamekeeper’s thumb”, but not many for CMC.) I tried some local stores, nothing better. So, I bought this brace, it works great! Without brace, it hurts to pick up a 16-oz glass of water. With brace, I can pick up a 1/2 gallon carton of milk.I cut off part of the thumb sleeve (as described in directions) because I didn’t need support there. The brace is small enough to use with x-large winter gloves. I also used it with work gloves, cutting open the back of the glove to make room. Comfortable enough to sleep with (but beware of restricting circulation), still preferable to ouches during the night when moving bed covers or pillow.Update, 5 weeks later. This brace let me do any work (even heavy work, I made a small cut in the back of my work gloves to make more room) while my sprain was healing. After a few weeks, I needed it less and less, now only for very heavy work.

Neoprene thumb brace
Helps support and stabilize thumb but makes hand sweat and somewhat bulky with activities. But if I’m not active with hand it’s great.

Great for hand injuries.
My Wife suffered hand and wrist injuries over 5 years ago from a fall down a Cement stair case. Several Neurosurgeons and specialist later they closed her workman's comp claim as she is a recovered as she will ever be and likened it to if you lost an appendage and the stump was healed. So there was nothing left to do. She is still limited to the number of hours she can work in a day before her wrists and hands are so painful she cannot function. She has slowly gained longer use of her hands and she loves to Knit and Crochet. She cannot Knit for more than an hour, however crochet seems to be okay. She hand a conversation with a fellow crocheter online in a forum and her Hand surgeon recommended these for her to use, so I thought we could give them a try.She loves them for her hands. The only draw back is it causes some wrist soreness, however she cannot get over how they have helped her hands!!Anything to give her relief and functionality is a 5 star item in my book as so many other items do not work for her. (I bought both the left and right a little oversized for her as her hands cannot take the pressure of the correct size. any smaller and they would not have worked).Thank you North Coast Medical for making these easily available.

Bone on bone
I had bone on bone which made every swing of my golf clubs hurt. The third joint of my thumb was removed and a piece of ligament was removed from my forearm and sewn into my arm. I was doing good for 71/2 weeks when I got an infection. Another operation. Wearing the glove to protect my thumb was a daily and nightly affair. After my second operation it was determined that I had M.R.S.A.. I have been wearing the glove for 3 plus months now, plus doing my PT 3 TIMES A DAY. Hoping pretty soon to end PT and my M.R.S.A. ends pretty soon and I can quit wearing my glove which I have been wearing when I have not had a cast on.

Runs way small , even after using their measurements
I ordered a medium because my therapist said they run small. The medium was supposed to fit 7”-8” and I have a 7 1/4 “ wrist. Unless I wanted to shut off the blood flow to my wrist , the Velcro strap would not attach. Way too short/small. I ordered a medium + and it fit around my wrist but the thumb retainer was huge so it didn’t keep my thumb partially immobilized. Sent them both back.

Not What It Used To Be
This thumb support is not being made the same way anymore. It used to have great lightweight support, but it is now being made differently. There is less stitching around the thumb, so it is less fitted and offers no support and there is little size diffence anymore. Alll the sizes are way too big Too bad, it used to be great.

Perfect for thumb arthritis
I love that I can wear this and the pain immediately stops. The only thing it limits me in doing is washing my hands, so I don't recommend cooking with these on. I can throw them in the washer if they get a little smelly, and life is good. They helped so much. The only thing that doesn't really stand true is the cooling part. But, if it means they are cooler than just gloves, then I agree.
