Negatives first: The thread quality is terrible - you absolutely need the needle threader, even with just 1 or 2 threads at a time. Definitely do not try threading 4 or more strands at once, the needle eye is NOT large enough - do 2 or 3 strands, double it over and fold at the ends to give you the 4 or 6 strands you need. The instructions are generally pretty clear for the stitches, though there are no instructions or color guides for the animals/plants in the middle of each sampler. Also, someone had the bright idea of writing the thread color codes in the thread colors - despite most of the thread colors being far too light to read, even in daytime with my nose to the pattern. Both of these are annoying but can easily be worked around by using the provided needle threader and tracing over the color codes in pen. Otherwise, great value for money - the patterns are cute and seem to be in a good progression so are great for beginners or ppl like me who are looking for a refresher and a reference (I’m planning to make my own pattern and this will be great for figuring out what stitches to use where, etc).

Very cute kit, easy to read and comes with everything you need to do all of the stitches and then some. Nice quality thread and lots of needle sizes to choose from. The videos are more helpful then the instructions on the back of the directions in some cases. The threader that is included did break pretty quick so maybe purchase some extras.

My wife wanted to learn embroidery so she got this set to begin. The levels of stitching are pretty straight-forward, however some of the included instructions/videos are a little confusing, but easily supplemented with any of the plentiful free resources out there. The included supplies are all of a good quality, and there is plenty to utilize.

The kit ia nice overall, but as many reviews suggest it requires looking up some of the stitches on other videos because the videos provided by the company aren't entirely clear. The stitch names are also not translated clearly, like one is just labeled "qianshan" but it is the chevron stitch. One frustration is the colors aren't all included. I'm missing 992 which is required in all 4 difficulty levels. :( I'm going to need to find an alternative because using another color risks running out of it for the other stitches and embroideries. Otherwise this has been a fun and useful beginner's set. The hoop is a good size and the cloth seems like a good quality for learning to stitch on. I do recommend looking up how to more easily load 6 thread onto the needle - I broke 3!! Needle eyes trying to load it before I read to just separate the threads a little and pull them through in sections. Edit to add: The thread quality is definitely much worse. I ended up getting DMC 922 to replace the missing skein and it is so obvious how different the quality is from luster to manageability. I also agree with other reviewers thay some of the stitches are really awkward with 6 strands like the "chain" on R3 that looks like a little flower. The threads were separating badly the whole time making it very difficult to do such tiny chain stitches on a shape like that.

Product works as it should. Directions are a little hard to follow. Great color variety and different patterns to get you started. Has a link for youtube!
