I'll buy it again.
Excellent products for people who lives in areas where the water is hard, like New Jersey and Florida. Don't forget, it is just an addition to your current water filtration system.

More convenient than a dedicated softener
I’m not entirely convinced that reverse osmosis or a salt-based softener solution was for me, so this was ideal. If only there was a way to recharge them….Flow rate for a 2 bath 3 bed house is fine. I don’t notice any major pressure drop at 86psi from the street.

Okay so far
I’m tired of lugging 40 pound bags of salt

Fixed my hard water problem
My water was so bad I had to clean out my water heater tank every 3 months. I tried this cartridge and it's been 9 months and There's barely any residue on the heating element.

It's a softener cartridge and it works.
I use these in a paired configuration (first this, then a carbon filter for taste and particulates) inline with my espresso machine's feed water.Hard water is very bad for your high-dollar coffee maker; it scales the boiler and eventually will destroy it if not prevented from doing so or being cleaned out.Note that these cartridges should never be used without a carbon filter after them as they may release small amounts of particulates into the water stream from the resin block, and that isn't good for your machine either.Service life on these depends on how hard your water is (you don't need it if it's not hard) and how much water goes through it. I use it on my hard-plumbed espresso machine which gets heavy, but home, use. For me these are a six-month-replacement cycle thing. I change this element every other time I change the carbon filter, which I do every three months. You have to set that schedule based on your water and its hardness; mine is quite hard and I've monitored for scale buildup in my boiler and have found none over a period of several years, so on the evidence I'm changing it "often enough."This is one of those things where it either works or doesn't, and if it does then it's either cheap or it isn't. Well, it works and it's materially cheaper than the other sources I've found for these, so therefore it gets five stars. :-)

Out put
It does what it says it will do and the water feels great. Not sure how long it lasts cuz there are alot of factors that determine that. I took it out after 2 weeks because the out out is only 2.5 gallons per minute. That is a california standard which sucks and i take out all limiters i can in my fixtures. That being said outpyt lowrrs water pressure and is to low for a whole house unit. If some is also using water somewhere in the house it make it much worse. So this wasnt an option for me. The only way around it would be to buy 2 or three and plumb them together in parallel which would double or triple your pressure which i dont have the room for. Also when i removed it to return i noticed the plastic case looks like it had a stress fracture. I didnt notice it when i out it in. Probably dropped in shipping.not companies fault

They really work
I was skeptical about this filter. I feared that (1) it wouldn't filter well, or it would have a reduced flow rate compared to the activated carbon filter that we were using. And (2) I feared that the "water softening" claim would be a gimmick of some sort. However, I am very pleased that this filter performs as claimed. The flow rate is slightly higher than the pleated/carbon filters that we replaced. The filtering is fine, with no noticeable increase in solids. And the filtered water is actually soft. We can lather in the shower; the dishwasher actually works now; the clothes washing machine produces better results. I will buy these again -- this is now our preferred filter. We live in northeast Wyoming right next to a creek. Our well is only 20 feet deep, and we are basically drinking creek-water. So, we depend on the big blue filter and a UV-lamp system to make our water potable. With activated carbon filters and the UV system, we were safe. But the water was very hard. We don't have room for a traditional water softening system without major remodeling. So, this filter provides a convenient upgrade. Yes, the filters are expensive, but in my opinion, they are a good value.
