The tap is as advertised. It's a right hand thread that works on the new self-sealing cans that are sold everywhere now. I bought a gauge set with hoses and the tap that came with the gauges was the old puncture style. So I needed this to allow me to use the new style cans. It works, and was easy to use. Good value to get my manifold kit up to modern standards.

The common, blue plastic freon adapters (new can type to old style gage hoses) seem to be continually leaking unless you go overboard in tightening (or lucky). This can tap makes a positive seal to the can, and has an internal open/close valve feature...win win!

This product does not work, don’t waste your time and money I tried it on multiple cans and couldn’t get any Freon out of any of them , I went to an auto parts store purchased one worked great
