These Paul Ruben’s oil pastels have very vivid hues and are incredibly smooth. They are an excellent value for the price. This set is fantastic for beginners diving into oil pastels, like myself, offering a diverse range of colors that blend seamlessly. The pastels are quite soft, with rich pigmentation across the color range. They work effectively on different surfaces and are a worthwhile purchase. The above cactus photo is a work in progress and I love how bright the colors are!

I just received my oil pastel's, and unfortunately due to what I'm assuming was a manufacturer mistake, I have two of the ash blue colors and did not get a phtalo blue, and the tip broke off of the barite green before I could even get it out of the little box they come in...not too mention they seem to be covered in a substance? I'm not sure if they just got too hot or what.

Okay so Im a artist who is a complete beginner when it comes to oil pastels I’ve only created a couple pieces with oil pastels so I’m no expert I bought a pack that was cheaper and I liked them but i decided to buy Paul Ruben’s because I heard good things about them and because I wanted some different shades first off I love the colors included in the 60 pack and they are extremely smooth and buttery when I swatched them but most of them where saturated with grease but I dried them with paper towel which helped a little and then before I put the lid back on after swatching I added a paper towel on top so maybe it will absorb the excess oils.
