Triple slot card with amazing performance
Absolute beat of a card. Be aware though it is a triple slot and will take up alot of space for that reason. This card also has a huge PCB so make sure your case has enough width to fit this with cables plugged in.The fans on the unit are almost completely silent even at full speed are not very audible at all. Considering this card is capable of pulling 350w when let loose im fairly impressed that the fans can keep up. The only cards I had that overclocked and performed better than these is my 1080TI FTW3 Hybrid card.If you looking for the ultimate in air cooled 1080TI's and you have the space. This is for you. With only on caveat being that if you want to SLi these cards the top card will choke badly. I had 2 in SLI and the bottom card under full load was a cool 56C while the top card was in the 84C range. So make sure you have good airflow in those cases.

An absolute must-have for Vive owners
This review is for the Gigabyte AORUS GeForce GTX 1080 Ti Xtreme Edition 11GB Graphic Cards GV-N108TAORUS X-11GD . Just wanted to make that clear because many times it isn't when you're looking at Amazon reviews. I got lucky and was able to preorder this from Amazon in mid-April after reading countless reviews of third party GTX 1080 Ti's on Amazon and other sites. Amazon got it to me in only 6 days which I greatly appreciate since this item is no longer available anywhere for the price that I paid, which was Founder's Edition + $50. At first I balked at paying more for this card. In November 2015, I bought a Gigabyte GTX 980 Ti G1 Gaming that I was unable to clock any higher than 1437 MHz when other folks were routinely getting 1.5 GHz out of the box. My son said that this time would be different and so I decided to give Gigabyte another shot, but to increase our chances of getting a faster card I sprang for the Xtreme Edition this time around instead of the G1 Gaming version. We installed the Xtreme Edition card in my son's PC and immediately saw a clock speed of 1974 MHz right out of the box in OC mode, without ANY tweaking or adjustment. The advertised speed in OC mode is 1746 MHz, so we're getting 228 MHz above that. Needless to say, I'm extremely happy with this result. The extra $30 - $50 that I spent on the Xtreme Edition was well worth the money, and I'm glad I went with this version of the card. If like me you worry about getting maximum performance from your expensive new GPU then you should get this card too. I think that by paying the extra money you're much more likely to receive a card with a higher maximum clock speed. This thing weighs nearly 5 lbs and I was concerned about it sagging inside the case, but it turns out that my son's MSI Computer X99A GAMING PRO CARBON ATX Motherboards has metal PCIe slots so the weight isn't a problem at all. This card is also very thick (takes 2.5 slots) because of the way the fans are stacked on top of one another. The middle fan is positioned lower with the other two raised slightly above it. This is Gigabyte's new cooling solution that provides better airflow through the card and it must work because the highest temperature I've seen during several hours of gaming (Fallout 4, DooM, Battlefield 1, etc.) is 71C. And that was on a hot day when the room temperature was about 75F. The card is also very stable and we haven't experienced any crashes as others have reported. When my son plays BF1 it never goes above 59C even though the card is running at 1,974 MHz or higher. I've seen it go as high as 1,990 MHz thanks to GPU Boost. I remember reading somewhere that the old GTX 1080's could be clocked higher than the 1080 Ti, but I really don't see much difference between the two.The reason we bought this card is to improve the VR gaming experience on our HTC VIVE - Virtual Reality System which we've owned since Christmas. Until now we've had a GTX 980 Ti running the Vive and consequently we've been unable to max out the graphics settings in many of our VR games because the 980 Ti just wasn't up to the task. This new 1080 Ti makes a huge difference in the playability of our VR games. In particular, we've been able to max out the graphics quality settings on games like Subnautica and Vanishing Realms. This card handles these games extremely well and Subnautica, in particular, almost looks like a different game with the graphics quality turned up and zero lag.I'm rarely in the market for a new graphics card, but when I do buy a new one I try to get the best thing available because it must last at least a couple of years before I'll be replacing it. I held off on buying a GTX 1080 last year because I didn't feel that it was a big enough performance boost over my old GTX 980 Ti. Now, I'm glad I waited for the 1080 Ti because the performance blows away both the GTX 980 Ti AND the GTX 1080.If you're looking for a significant performance boost over a GTX 1080 or GTX 980 Ti at a reasonable price, look no further than this card. The extra $30 - $50 cost may be the best money you'll ever spend on computer hardware. Amazing Performance
I bought this thing after trying to find a GTX 1080 Ti at retail price for over a month. It finally went down to $699 USD and I pulled the trigger! This thing is a beast, truly blows every game out the water in ultra detail at around 150FPS in ultra. I'm running games on a Dell Gaming Monitor 1440p overclocked to 165Ghz and G-Sync. This card finally made that monitor purchase worth the price I paid. This is the bleeding edge of gaming right now, if you want to play at the highest level and dominate in competitive games this is where it is at.Performance is great though the card does run a bit hot. Nvidia states the card throttles at 84 degrees Celsius. This seems hot, but according to Nvidia this is completely safe temperatures. I have yet to hit 84 degrees, with custom fan curves I stay around 70 degrees Celsius no problem.I built my computer three days ago and I am just loving this card right now. feel free to ask me any questions you would like to know.My Build:Case: NZXT S340 EliteCPU: i7-7700kCPU Cooler: NZXT Kraken X62GPU: Gigabyte GTX 1080 Ti FERAM: Corsair Vengeance LPX 16GB (2x8GB) DDR4 DRAM 3200MHzMotherboard: ASUS Z270E Gaming StrixPower Supply: Corsair RM850xStorage: Samsung 960 EVO SSD 250GB & WD Black 1TB HDDMonitor: Dell Gaming S2417DG
