I love the idea of this hose reel. Overall it is well built but it has a leak coming from where the hose connects not sure which side but it does cause some suction loss. Other than that. It works great and looks great! Beats the price of a vacuum coxreel which was my other option.

I use it to hold 60' of 1 1/2" vac hose, it is a solid piece of equipment, I will be using it differently than I originally intended. Due to its size and weight, I'm sure bigger hose would be lighter, this is my design error. I originally intended to mount this to my vac system, in conjunction with two dust separators. Which is now being designed to have the reel made removable, so it can be used in the trailer as well. So,yes, it's better than I expected, will definitely be purchasing more for garage and shop.

I use this for my central vacuum hose - I only use it as a reel to make it easier to store my hose and keep it untangled for when I use the central vacuum. Having a long hose without a reel is extremely difficult- my house was unable to accommodate a hide a hose system so I had to go with the regular central vacuum. This reel has been a life saver! I have 60 ft of hose and it fits on the reel with a little additional room so I think you could probably use it for up to 65 feet. This is sturdy and the reel mechanism seems high quality. It reels in both directions.
