FeiyuTech Feiyu Vimble 2 Extendable 3-Axis Handheld Gimbal Stabilizer for Smartphones with Panorama Shooting, Compatible with iPhone/Samsung/Huawei/Xiaomi

If you are reading this review that means you are at the same place where I was a few weeks ago. I wanted a mobile gimbal to use when I walk dogs and when go travelling. I don’t like the usual shaking effect of the mobile footage despite image stabilisation of my current iPhone X. After a detail research, I have shortlisted 3 gimbals. Those are SMOVE Mobile. DJI Oslo Mobile 2 and Smooth Q. All three are functionally similar except SMOVE Mobile has telescopic arm which can be extended from 0 to 183mm. I liked this functionality as it is useful for “crane shots” and selfie.While going through different reviews of SMOVE Mobile, I have found out that there is another mobile gimbal looks and works exactly the same like SMOVE Mobile, but slightly cheaper. That is how I found VIMBLE 2. SMOVE Mobile and VIMBLE 2 are same product.Now proper review:Packaging - Beautifully packaged in a carry soft case. Comes with micro USB cable for charging, wrist strap, mini tripod mount and charging cables for your mobile (if you want to charge your phone connecting to the gimbal battery)Charging - using any micro USB cable and usb charger (charger doesn’t come with the pack, but any USB mobile charger will work). I charged first time connecting to the power source whole night and it hold the charge very well. The indicator light will be red when charging and turns to green when fully charged.Phone holder - It is an extendable holder and can be extended from 57 to 84mm. You can attach the phone either vertically of horizontally. They recommend you should remove the phone case before attaching to the gimbal, but I have been successfully using my iPhone X with very slim case without any problem.Gimbal itself -It is a three axis gimbal. You should connect the phone to the gimbal before switching it on. The load capacity is 100-200 gms and most mobile phone will be fine.The power button becomes the function button too. You can change to different shooting modes or different camera lens by clicking the function button multiple times. For example, you you click the function button 3 times, it will change the camera from back to front or vice versa.Modes -Panning mode (Default mode ) - The rolling and tilting direction are fixed, and the smartphone moves according to the hand movement direction of the user.Follow mode - The rolling direction is fixed, and the smartphone moves according to the hand movement direction of the user. You can choose between “Face Follow” or “Object Follow”Lock mode - The orientation of the smartphone is fixed. You can initiate the lock mode by pressing the trigger button at the front of the handle.Reset - Return to pan mode, all to return to default.Motion control mode - I found it useful to take time-lapse shots keeping the gimbal on a tripod.Mobile app -Mobile app is called Vicool which is available in Playstore and App Store. Within the app you can do mostly everything. You can choose photo, video, time-lapse or panorama. You can also ISO, WB, Exposure, etc using the app. You can do advanced setting like the sensitivity of the gimbal, change the pan speed, etc. I found their paper or downloadable instruction very useful.Things I like most -The extendable arm (for crane shots and selfie)To be able charge the mobile phone while taking video or pictures.Reliable app with tons of setting possibleVertical and Horizontal mobile attachment optionsTrigger button which is located in a proper place to be able to use by your index finger.Mini tripodThings could be better -The handle grip feels little slippery. Good product. I instructions very, very, very bad!

I had high hopes but they were quicly dashed. The software app to use your phone is broken. I lost countless videos when the app would freeze while recording or once recording is stopped. My phone is a pixel xl so not a cheapie with rubbish ui.I also bought the adapter to allow me to use an action cam but i had more issues here. I had the same issue another review mentioned where it would become shaky for a moment for no apparent reason, but for me the deal breaker was the infuriating mode button that often didn’t work and wouldn’t change panning modes until I switched it off and restarted again and maybe then it would work for a while. I checked it was running the latest firmware and i also checked that i had not exceeded its weight limit.Im now sending it back as lifes too short trying to use workarounds to make something work as it should.

I ever used Zhiyun Smooth 4, but I think this one is more flexible to take, and the accessories are complete, the package is great！ It's attractive in price and quality, I strongly recommend it.

didn't work well, shaky at times, bad software even after upgrade, i just wasnt happy with it

As with the previous review I'm really impressed with this product.Mine came with a small bag of short usb cables, iPhone, C and mini USB. Overall a fantastic bit of kit.

Always has a tilt. No way to fix it. Put 5 times this amount and buy yourself a Ronin.
