Impressive, with a few minor flaws
Good: Unlike entirely too many companies that claim high power and bury in the fine print that they're talking about *input* power, with output a fraction of that, LaserTree claims a full 60 watt *output* power for this laser. And they aren't kidding. This thing cuts so quickly and cleanly it's almost scary. Laser power can be manually capped at 20, 40, or 60 watts via buttons on the laser head. Speed goes up to 20 meters per minute, but I wouldn't run it much past a third that if your paths are at all complex. Works well with LightBurn and LaserGRBL software after a little tweaking (see below). I haven't done any precision work yet, but cuts for projects I've burned so far look clean and accurate. Huge work surface, way more than I need. Air assist connection and pump are included, imho a necessity for this tool. Honeycomb platform is included, somewhat smaller than the work area but adequate for my needs. Provision for a rotary attachment, sold separately. Tools, spare lenses, material samples included. Quite the complete little kit. Assembly took a little doing, in part because I really didn't have enough table space for this monster, but should be simple for an experienced maker. Customer support, when you need it (and you probably will - see below) is actually quite prompt and helpful. Decent price for what you get. Bad: There is an X-axis limit switch, but there appears to be no Y-axis limiter. This matters because the cutter beam is offset something like 38.5 mm from home coordinates. If you don't take that offset into account, the head will try to go into negative coordinates, with accompanying noise and grinding of gears. It seems as though LightBurn should be configurable to compensate automatically, but if so I haven't figured out how yet. Regardless, the machine really should have a Y limit switch. Aggravating this is the fact that the laser alignment cross-hair is also offset from the cutter beam. If you aren't aware of the exact offset, positioning the stock to be cut is an exercise in frustration. There are a few more semi-nit-picks. The instruction books are adequate, but only that. I had to query customer support a couple of times to get LightBurn talking to the cutter at all, then a couple after that to get details of that pesky offset and how to deal with it. Granted, it's not their software, but setup instructions need to be more complete. Ideally, Laser Tree should noodge the LightBurn people to support their products directly. Once you do get things set up properly, however, everything works and works well. Tips: - This thing requires more work space than the dimensions suggest. I ended up building a 4' square box of 2x2s and heavy plywood to sit on the wholly-inadequate old kitchen table I'd intended to use as-is. If I were doing it over again (which I probably will), I would build a 4-by-5 or 4-by-6-foot platform to hold the cutter, air pump, laptop, and miscellany. Make sure you have at least this much open space before beginning assembly. - Good ventilation and at least a makeshift smoke hood are mandatory if you're engraving or cutting anything organic, and a good idea for everything else. - The manual describes use of the air assist as optional. It isn't, really. I've already ruined one lens finding this out. - Amazon has plenty of good laser safety glasses. Don't even think about firing this thing up without making sure everyone in line of sight wearing them. This tool can be every bit as dangerous as a table saw, and the blade moves at the speed of light. Bottom line: Now that the learning-curve frustration is out of the way, I'm having a lot of fun with this thing, and finding new uses for it all the time. To be honest, I don't often ramp the thing up to its full output power nowadays, but it's sure nice to have that much zap available when it is needed. I do think Laser Tree is missing a bet by not making this thing even more modular than it already is. I would buy shorter rails for a 400x600 work area if they were available, and I WOULD buy a serious infrared laser head, 40W+ rather than the 2-watt unit they sell now (which I'm not even sure would fit my table.) Anyway, I like it. It works well once properly set up, it's sturdy, and gives me a nice mad-scientist vibe when operating at full power. Five stars.

This machine is not perfect(little issues for correction) but work fine in the end
Good product, the only thing, is that the X and Y axes get a little stuck when moving by hand, but works fine in normal speeds, I think it is normal in this type of linear motion system.

100% recomended
Excellent product. It's incredible how the vibrations are not transferred to the table. I have this Air running on the same table as the Laser Engraver, no vibrations at all.

Please help me
Holy cow where to began instructions only get you 60% of the way and then you’re on your own I’m currently writing this review in hopes That the seller will see it and contact me to please help me. I’ve tried everything to get this thing to work on. My computer is using multiple computers and I cannot get it to connect to either GRBL or Lightburn I’ve went on GRBL from the flash drive and installed the driver still can’t get it to work. There is a program that comes on the flash driver that looks like you can use to flash the laser, but there are no instructions. I can very easily return this thing, but I really want it to work. Please help me.

Love my new laser engraver!
I have enjoyed everything about my laser engraver journey! I think this brand is pretty solid. The instructions were great for assembly out of the box. I did find that some of the components were very tight in terms of fit... Particularly the power / connection portion of the setup. But, despite this, I used laser GRBL to get started right away and after downloading an update was up and running. I definitely recommend watching some YouTube videos first on how to use laser GRBL. ALSO, VERY IMPORTANT: instead of jumping right in and burning wood I would recommend getting some pieces of cardboard.

Perfect for the Ray5 20W
This air pump was very reasonably priced and has two diameters of tubing which the smaller diameter fit perfectly to the port on the side of the Laser. While running, I like the variable power dial so you can add a mild blow to a very good blast of air through the laser path. It definitely keeps the engraving sharper with much less side burn. With the laser head fan running, this pump is extremely quiet (against that background noise).

No customer service contact, even w/Amazon. Has not worked from arrival. Ad removed after purchase.
***UPDATE*** Company's customer service reached out after I posted my review. I explained the whole situation and worked to trouble-shoot the first machine. They immediately shipped a new machine. It did arrive (I haven't had a chance to open it due to being out of town). While I appreciate the company’s eventual response and the replacement product, I am disappointed that it took a negative review to get their attention. Customer service should be more accessible and responsive from the start. I hope moving forwards, this will be the case. No support. Machine did not work properly from the beginning. I emailed the company support on the website. I emailed through Amazon. I called Amazon and asked them to connect me. They told me they could not help me because they were not able to connect with Laser Tree. I received this machine and really wanted this machine to work. Got it set up, ready to do power/cutting tests and ... The machine quit 30 sec into a job. I purchased a new a/b cable. (Someone on Reddit had said that was their issue.) Didn't help. Homing was a noisy nightmare. Checked the software. I followed all the trouble shooting on the website. I searched forums on Reddit. I came back to Amazon and tried to contact Laser Tree for help. No response. The product listing had been removed. It was not back on until AFTER the return by date so I could do nothing to get any help. I am not new to lasers. I have several including CO2 and diodes. I have 3d printers and CNC. I troubleshoot all the time. I am not a beginner user. I use Lightburn software for my lasers. $$ down the drain with a non-working machine sitting here. I want a new machine or my money back. Contact me for more info.
