Unusual and awesome book.
A very interesting book on an equally interesting subject - typewriters. Full of rich, well researched content and lavishly illustrated this book should find a place in the shelves of book lovers.

First class value in a first class & entertaining book!
This is a lovely book. Attractively bound in an embossed cover, with fascinating insight into most early manufacturers, it is a pleasure to sit down with and read each page to relive the development of the machine.Almost best of all, it comes at a reasonable price, given the quality of production...are you listening software book publishers? You who rehash content for each version & yet still charge high prices?

Beautiful book
Was very happy with this book. The images are very good, and it provides a decent enough overview of the history of the typewrite.

A collection of history, perfect for the collector.
Love it.A great collection of nostalgia, especially for history that is decades (centuries?) before my time. And beautifully organised and presented.

Excellent book on ANTIQUE Typewriters
This is a very nice, beautiful 200+ pages tome that is full of great highly detailed photographs and information on the history and development of the typewriter (and the people involved), and mainly covers the earliest typewriters (i.e. antique); be aware that if you are hoping for coverage of vintage typewriters (~1920s+), you will not find it in this book.

A beautiful book that brings to life the history of the typewriter
A gorgeous, well-written book on the history of the typewriter from two guys who have been on the collecting landscape for a long time. Avid typewriter aficionados and non-collectors alike will be drawn in by both the nostalgic historical photographs of a bygone era and the beautiful photos that highlight the bizarre designs of early machines. But the book is much more than that. It tells an intriguing story of the often bumpy road leading to the development of the writing machine. Books that chronicle history often are burdened with a litany of dates and numbers that make for tiresome reading. This book, though, avoids that tedious trap by bringing the narrative alive with interesting anecdotal stories about what transpired to bring one of the most important inventions of modern times to the forefront. Well done, gentlemen!
