I have read 'How to travel incognito' by the same author. Both of them are realy the good. This kind of writing is lost now a days. A story of a lost world may not be a good one.

This is a timeless, entertaining classic that about restaurant hospitality in a French restaurant in New York, I've read it twice and actually purchased it after I read it at the library. I've bought it as a gift for people in the the business.

I bought it because I live in the same town as Hotekl bemelmans where the author originally came from. The stories are not of this hotel. However still entertaining.

Enjoyable tales about the old-world hotel trade in gentler times

I emjoyed this book many years ago and a re-read was just as delightful. An interesting person, a true raconteur.My research was interesting and my report may have inspired others to read his books now
