Strong, definitely higher quality than a normal plug. Works great with my charger.
Great quality, noticably beefier than a standard plug. I'm running an Emporia charger at 40 amps, barely feels warm after several hours of charging. No complaints at all with this plug.

More robust
After hearing so many reports of how much better these are than a standard ten dollar Leviton from 11 years ago, I decided to upgrade. This one is marginally deeper, but still fits in a 2 inch deep box with no trouble. The circumference is bigger so you'll need a bigger plate. The biggest difference aside from robustness is that this uses a hex wrench to attach the wires, and it can be torqued down tightly with a torque wrench. When I installed the original one 11 years ago, I realized how hard it was to get proper torque with a flat blade screwdriver. A Philips would slip with that much force. I think that the biggest reason people have trouble with cheaper outlets is improper torquing. These photos show the differences in dimensions and build, compared to one that was in daily use for 11 years. A properly installed one held up to proper charging after all, but I'd still recommend spending the money on this one to be sure.

For me, the Leviton much better than the Hubbell.
I have an EV. So far this play works well. Easy to plug and unplug. A little hot, but Not super hot.It specifically is for EV charging, has the picture of a car on it.I replaced the heavy duty Hubbell outlet that I bought. It never worked right, ran hot, and was hard to plug and unplug. When I took it out, a loose piece of plastic fell out. Maybe it was defective from the start. But considering the Hubbell is a $100+ part, and heavy duty, I was very disappointed. I splurged to buy the Hubbell based on reviews. But I am very sorry I did.

Well made and heavy duty
This appears to be a well made heavy duty outlet. It comes with the ev symbol on it, which is supposed to mean it's approved for the power load required for charging an ev. Mine has been working flawlessly tied to a 60 amp breaker and I've noticed only minimal heat build up during charging sessions.

Perfect for EV charger!
Item was received as advertised and was easy to install. Pay attention to the torque settings for the screws during install.

Decent Quality
More robust than standard 14-50 outlets.I put this in because the cheap outlet I installed for charging our cars was getting warmer than I like.

High quality EV Rated nema 14-50R receptacle for a low price
This receptacle was the exact quality that I expected. I read a lot of reviews on nema 14-50 receptacles mainly because I saw a lot of non EV rated types of receptacles being used for electric vehicle charging. These non-EV rated receptacles are not constructed for lengthy charging sessions. What sold me on this one was the full blades inside the sockets and the screw terminals. The terminals are (for lack of a better word) "beefier." I installed this in my garage using a 40A GFI breaker and have charged about a dozen times since installation. I have not had an issue with it. It works as expected. I would recommend that once it is installed and you are plugged into it that you do not plug and un-plug needlessly. Doing this could weaken the terminals. I consider it a semi-permanent installation.

Works well to power my 240V 40A car charger.
Why did you pick this product vs others?:With this type of purchase, it's either going to work or not work. This was installed a part of a new 50A circuit from my breaker panel. It was installed by an electrician, so I can speak to how hard or easy that was compared to other similar plugs. But my electrician urged me to get a name brand outlet so I got this Leviton. And I have had this for over 6 months now and it has worked flawlessly the entire time. Everything around the plug gets a little warm, but that's expected with all that current in use.
