This is a very classy version of backgammon. It's in a leather-covered wood attache case and inside the different color triangles on either side are also leather, on a padded/felt interior. The overall aesthetics look great. It has a matching set of the checker pieces and dice, with two felt-interior cups for quiet rolling.The "leather" is rather thin and does cover the entire exterior, so treat it gently to avoid nicks, dings, or tears.Overall it's a great design and great game - just a few quality issues on the one I got.I've knocked off a star for the below items:The stripes on the cover line up on the top but not the bottom of the case. This is visible on the bottom of the case when closed and also on the center of the opened game (since you can see a bit of the exterior of the open case).There are no feet on the bottom of the case, so it high-centers on the hinges and is prone to falling over. Most briefcases or attache cases have little feet on the four corners specifically to avoid this (if the covering material isn't thick enough to hide the hinge). You may want to store it horizontally or leaning against something.The instructions aren't the greatest. I'd really recommend going online and finding a tutorial video - it'll save you a lot of frustration.All in all it's a very classy nice set and case and pieces, it's just those few things that are a bit off that stop it from being perfect.

A fun to play classic with a great presentation.

Overall a nice set. Looks like a small briefcase. I feel the handle and clasps could have been a little better. The handle is a bit cheap looking compared to the rest of the exterior. The clasps are, I think, too large for this size case. They are also too sharp around the edges, and the large size emphasizes this as there is so much of each that you need to come into contact with to open and close. Also you need to move them to close position when open in order that the board lays flat. You would think that all the though put into the details, they would've caught that.There is nice detail on the outside with the stitching and the stripes. The inside is just as nice. The pieces feel solid, if light, but very smooth and they sit well on the board. The shakers are cheap feeling and look like cardboard. Not very important, but still it shows the quality.The description states this game is leather, the smell tells me it may be. It is smooth but very thin. I can still smell an undertone of paper/cardboard.I feel this is a nice fancy looking set, it's midrange quality, and that makes it a decent set for anyone who just wants to play the game.

This board makes a good first impression and all the pieces were there. Mine was the 15 inch which is a good size for table play. My gripes are that if you fully open the latches and unfold the board - you could scratch the table you are playing on; the tokens feel light and cheep and do not fit snugly in the holders, Also the stripes don't match up when you close the box. Fully functional but not as elegant as I was hoping.

I have always enjoyed playing this game and have fond memories while I was young doing so, I selected this item and to play with my kids and teach them how to play.Today me and my 13 year old played and I noticed the stitching on the board was done very well.There were no missing items and the size of the board perfect almost the size of my sofa cushion. This would be a great gift and anyone who likes board games would have great fun with this backgammon set.The instructions were small print which would be difficult for someone with vision problems but I feel like anyone who is buying this would already know how to play or can use anything online to learn if needed.
