These were hot to the touch on delivery! Amazon needs to find a way to ship all batteries and battery devices at an appropriate temperature. Strongly suggest that all batteries be in the bottom of the truck and properly vented.

These batteries claim to have a 7 year shelf life. I am not sure what happens at the end of 7 years, but I assume the voltage level drops to an unacceptable range. Out of the box, these batteries measured full and powered my devices without issue. Two thumbs up on this product.

I'm often wary to try things like this when I need them, rather than my old stand-by's. However, they all tested well on my little manual battery tester (NOT my tongue, tyvm!! ew, lol), and appeared to work just fine when I popped it into my smoke alarm.My Husband is a musician and also uses these for some of his equipment, so having an 8-pack available is very handy for both of us.These say they last 7 years in storage. I'll tell you right now, I'm 99.9% sure that I won't be here to update my review in 2031 to let you know if this is true, so whether or not you believe this claim is entirely up to you.I've only had these a month, and while there have been no problems with them as of now, it's super-early to give a comprehensive review on batteries of any kind, so take it with a reasonable grain of salt.I'm giving these 4 stars here, first because they test fine new and they work, and second because at about $10 when I ordered, they're a pretty good value for a box of 8 working 9V batteries, so it may end up being worth the gamble. As always, go with your gut, and use your own best judgment.

I'm well aware the younger generations aren't aware of their ability to test 9V batteries by touching the end connectors with their tongues. None of the battery operated devices have operated on 9V batteries and their only experience with them is to hold them while their parent opens the smoke detector to replace the battery. I think we would need to go back as far as toy walkie talkies and transistor radios to find a toy relying on 9V batteries for power. I digress...These batteries are nice and strong as you'll see in reviews by a younger generation than I who own electronic testers. If you don't happen to own a tester and want to ensure you've received good batteries, go ahead and touch your tongue to the two connectors on the end. You'll learn right away how much power the battery holds!

I have kids who like to do science projects, especially with electronics, so these are great. With some alligator clips LEDs and specialized PCB, the kids get to go nuts. I was surprised how hard it is to find batteries that aren't AA or AAA locally these days, but Amazon fills that need. I'm going to test one out in a smoke detector to see if these can replace the more expensive brands I've always used.

I am a Vine reviewer who actually opens the box, tests, and honestly evaluates items.At first, I was amazed when the first two batteries tested to the exact same 9.69V DC. But when four in a row did it, I was really flummoxed. Pretty amazing. But then I read that two other reviewers had the exact same thing happen. Very interesting. I decided to stop there and not test the other four.I would normally test a battery for performance, but since these are not rechargeable that would be a waste of battery(s), so I'll forgo that test.My header is based on the performance of these batteries in smoke and carbon monoxide detectors, so the final result won't be known for (hopefully) a very long time.So, for now, I'll give 'em a 5-star rating. If the detectors start beeping prematurely, I'll be baaaack.

I've used Voniko batteries before and always been satisfied. These 9 volts have been put to use in a smoke detector and a scale. They're doing their job fine, and hopefully will last a long time! This 8-pack is a great deal at only $1.25 each, and they have a very long shelf life of 7+ years! With these, I may not need another 9v battery until well into the 2030s.
