I use it in a unique way — instead of gum, I fill it with 1” capsules that each hold the title of a book from my TBR pile (to-be-read books, for non-readers). It works perfectly right out of the box and adds so much fun to choosing my next read. I use quarters to operate it, which doubles as my “book money” — no new book purchases until I’ve saved enough from using the machine. It’s turned my TBR into a reward system, and I’m obsessed. I call her “Reading Roulette”.The capsules fit just right, and the machine works smoothly on the first try every time. It comes with two keys, is easy to disassemble and reassemble, and looks far more elegant and classy in person than any video or photo can capture. It’s become both a functional piece and a conversation starter in my reading space.My only minor complaint is that it’s lightweight — I do wish it had a little more weight to it, just so it wouldn’t shift slightly when turning the knob. But that’s a small issue in an otherwise flawless experience.If you’re looking for something fun, stylish, and practical (especially with a bookish twist), this gumball machine is a total win! You get what you pay for. This product is made of plastic and aluminum. It is very light weight, and probably easily broken. I wouldn't put this in a place where it can't be watched or you will lose your investment and any profits. That being said, it works great! I'm using it at my booth for vendor fairs and its easy to move and store. *Warning* Some of the new "special" quarters (Mt. Rushmore & Land Stewardship so far) do NOT fit in the opening. They are just slightly larger than other quarters and will jam the machine. Keep small pliers handy for removing them.

This machine has been a great hit! its really durable as we have knocked it over a few times with minimuim damage. the color is nice and bright so that helps draws attention to the machine. we use it at our vendor shows with 3d printed items inside it and it works great. it is a top seller most of the time.

Not cheap, but highly useful for positive re-enforcement for kids!My 3 year old nephew now asks “what can I do for a quarter?”It’s a great way to assign tasks, and teach “cleaning up” and personal responsibility.You can find the “balls” I purchased to fill it with in my other reviews- it took me a couple different purchases to find the right size for this machine.
