Works as intended to preserve lotions for customers

I used this product to make some body wash and it worked great. I will definitely purchase again.

It works as described, just far thicker than I expected! It pours like cold molasses, so very difficult to work with exact amounts. I ended up making a 50% solution to work with and add to my formulations in order to be accurate (which you very much need with one of the components in the preservative!)

Like it or not, anything with water and fats (which are the base ingredients for all lotions and soaps) can easily grow germs. Sometimes, those germs can be very bad ones, like E coli.This is a well-known and highly respected brand of soap preservative that does the job with zero parabens or formaldehyde. (Both of which I try to avoid whenever possible) I am a bit annoyed that the small size bottles don't list the proportions of preservative to your base...but they do list it online.

Like it or not, preservatives in cosmetics are there for a reason, to protect you from slathering a bunch of E. Coli all over your face and skin. Any mixture of oil and water (like lotion) has the potential for bacterial and fungal growth. Most people don't want to keep their cosmetics in the freezer, so a preservative is needed.I've used Germall Plus many times in my formulae and it always works exceptionally well. If used at the proper concentration and kept below a certain temperature (122F/50C), you can expect your products to be shelf stable for months (if not years). It doesn't contain parabens or formaldehyde, which is a good thing for folks who scare easily when reading labels. Definitely a must for folks who make their own cosmetics. Highly recommended.

I intend to use this to make homemade lotions for myself, so that I know exactly what is in my daily use cosmetics and going on my body. In researching recipes for DIY lotions, I found that I did need to add a preservative of some kind since the lotions would require some water, and Germall Plus was a recommended preservative that isn't super harsh. While I looked up the ingredients in Germall Plus, it does make me a bit nervous that the ingredients are not printed on this particular bottle. The brand seems reputable so I am putting my faith in that.

I like to make lotions and soaps and always put in a preservative when it is needed. I find Germall Plus to work well with my lotions because it blends in easily, doesn't add a scent, and gives me confidence that the lotion will be safe to use for a longer period of time.This 4 ounce bottle will last a long time because each 10 ounce batch of lotion only needs a very small amount of Germall Plus.Great product that works!
