Atticus Electronics Wired Push Button (3312BC) for Doorbells in Black Chrome Finish

After new siding was installed, we only had a bit more than 1" for the doorbell button. The design is attractive (in a minimalist sort of way), the dark section is metal and substantial. And it only measures 1" wide. But turns out I don't care for the "black chrome" finish. It's black, with a mirror-like surface layer, so the apparent color depends on the viewing angle. From some angles it looks pretty close to black, from other angles it looks silvery. It'd look fine in a more modern context, but the finish just didn't look right on our 1890's Victorian. So, I'm giving this one 4 stars out of 5, because I recognize it's a well-made product, but subtracting a star because the pictures & description that went with the Amazon posting didn't give me a good enough mental picture of what the finish was going to look like.

It's a doorbell. When you press it, the doorbell rings.

Looks great. Does its job.
