Not perfect, but great bang for the $
I wasn't expecting this to sound as good as it does and be as useful as it is in such a small package. It packs several usable effects in a tiny footprint and add some utility to a pedalboard that you are still trying to fill out while not taking much space at all. It won't beat any of the established modelers and multi-fx units, I don't think. But it's good enough to take along in your case, gig bag or pocket and can add effects depth to other fly-rig type units.

Quiet and decent verb and delay
Works well and quiet. Some limitations, though. The gain sounds lean heavily to high gain stuff, so look with caution for the more vintage gain sounds. But, they"re in there they just require some exploration.(tweed deluxe with showman cabinet and bit of room delay was just about worth the price of this rig!). Tuner is accurate and the pedal can be used for clean gain when used with the appropriate amp model. I've got a goodly life between charges. Verdict: the handiness of this simple pedal is worth it, BUT you must dig around in the settings. IMHO, not plug and play for the discriminating player, just a handy Swiss army knife on the cheap. After a while, I kept it, gladly.

Disappointing
Lots of static and hissing. Not easy to configure. Not a great pedal unless you're really into noisy tone and feedback. Seems like something internally isn't shielded or grounded properly.

i wanted to like this
i really wanted to like this, and while is very well built its interface is really annowying and i particulary dont like the sound. Lekeato and valetone have better effects than this or even other donner single pedals

Surprisingly Good!
I bought this with the intention of using it as a quiet way to practice when I travel. I decided to use it last night for our New Year’s Eve service at church. I play bass and was blown away with how good this sounded. The available cabinets and amps for the bass are punchy and sound really great for this to cost how much it did. Battery didn’t even take a hit after playing for a while. My MD was even impressed with how good it sounded. Definitely recommend.Edit: Creating patches and saving them is really easy. The only knock I have is that I wish I could name them. But that’s not a deal breaker at all.

There's a party in your Pocket-X!
Great tones, modulation settings, compression options, delay, reverb, and amp modeling. The Pocket X is small and mighty. Donner provides presets for guitar and bass, and the rest of the slots are for customized settings. And it is easy to adjust parameters, turn modules on/off, and save as a preset. It is really easy to "move" presets to different slots. The Pocket X isn't without a few drawbacks. The two foot switches move up (right) and down (left) the preset list. If you're playing in Preset 01, and you're coming up to the part where you change effects, you can either go to P02 or P80 with a single click. If the new effect is in the P34 slot, you have to click the right foot switch 33 times to get there. -or hold it down while it speeds up the list.I don't think the Pocket X was designed for the pedalboard. It has a rechargeable battery (USB C), but no 9v power input. The other glitch is that it is "always on", meaning the two foot switches just go up and down the settings. If it is on your pedalboard and you are running through other effect boxes after the Pocket X, there is no way to get a bypassed signal through it. Yeah, you can turn on/off your other boxes as needed, but they will be added to the Pocket X effects. As a stand alone, it is awesome. Lots of tones and effects to play with and store in the box. Hook it up to your computer to backup and arrange presets. In all, it is a great little effects box. I've been using it with headphone for practicing.

Lots of high gain sounds. Few cleans.
Most of the amp models are high gain amps, which aren't my thing. There is a "Twin" type sound that stayed too clean and non-dynamic, even with the gain up and the onboard boost. There is a "Vox" type that is way too bright, like a caricature of a Vox. There is a "Tweed" sound that doesn't sound Tweed-y to me. The presets were quite lacking and I started making some that were pretty good but realized that the presets on the Flamma FX10 headphone amp I already had were better. That headphone amp doesn't have much control over the sound but had presets that were ok right out of the box and were quite nice with just a bit of tweaking. The Donner Pocket-x really lacks the kind of dynamics you look for in a vintage tube amp. Rolling back the guitar volume didn't make much difference in gain until the volume dropped off quite a bit. I suspect the target market is for young players that want heavily compressed high gain and super clean sounds. I like my cleans a little dirty and my dirties a little clean. I knocked it down a star because I think it could have been made with at least one more better clean sound (a "Princeton" sound would be an obvious choice) and should respond better to guitar volume sweep and picking dynamics. The "Boost" didn't do a lot and no overdrive or distortion option. I did like some of the very "synth" type reverbs that can be used for some cool ambient stuff. I have a vintage tube amp (Modded 1965 Vox Pacemaker) that I really like and just want a modeling amp for silent practice. I have the Flamma FX10 and was hoping the Donner Pocket-X would be a significant improvement, but it is not for my purposes. The Flamma headphone amp has several usable and very different cleans as well as high gain. The main downsides to the Flamma are it's quite compressed, and there is not much control over the sounds. Amps and effects usually have only one parameter that you can adjust.
