Girls' Last Tour, Vol. 2 (Volume 2) (Girls' Last Tour, 2)

So somber, yet so engrossing.
This is very different from my usual fare of supernatural & harem rom-coms. Such a morose subject here. It's a wonder the girls aren't filled with utter despair. Such a strange adventure, & such a strange life. I hope we get some backstory on the girls. It would be nice to see where they originated, how they met, etc. I have a feeling though, that we might not get that. Art, very rough, feels much more "rough sketch" than "finished art". But, as much as I didn't like this style at 1st, I now am beginning to appreciate it, as it really fits well with the story. Dialogue, a bit boring at times. You'd think the girls would be more engaged with each other, as they have no one else. It seems a lot is left unsaid between the 2.

This series has a unique art style that really seems to resonate with me. The episodic stories flow very well together and generate a lot of food for thought. It's fun to compare and contrast the manga from the anime as well!

Book quality is okay
Happy to read the comic book for my favorite anime. Not 100% satisfied with the book quality (see first picture), but it's okay.

You need to read this!
Seriously good series. A conversation about existentialism disguised as a shoujo manga.

Great anime - a bit short and I am looking forward to a second season - assuming one is in the works.

If you loved the first you will love this
So I gave the first volume four stars and was really hoping I would get some answers or just one tease of something as to how everything became as it is and nothing! Was hoping there would be a third person addition to Yuuri and Chito at the end of this, in a desolate place they meet a couple of rare people yet leave them behind and not ask to go with them? Maybe I’m just being too impatient, it’s a good read and the art is still cool but I was looking for more.

Get along with hopelessness.
Chito and Yuuri's adventures continue and vol.2 offers a more intricate glimpse of the world and its past. Themes like religion, memories, and music are explored with the girl's usual innocence and sense of wonder in their attempt to understand how civilization used to be a long time ago. But one of the more important themes of the entire series is slowly made clear with this volume. and that is "Hopelessness". And getting along with it. Some readers might find author Tsukumizu's worldview too pessimistic at times and might not agree with some of the messages the manga conveys, but it is this daring point of view that perhaps in contrast to what everyone expects, actually makes us feel a little more hopeful, that against all odds we continue to move on.Girl's Last Tour Vol.2

Once again I am very happy
I am once again very happy with this manga, and am excited to get the next! This volume features even more wholesome interaction, exploration, intense moments and another interesting character! I particularly like the lighting and plane illustrations throughout this volume, and ishiis design :-) once again, 10/10, cute girls, industrial aesthetics and practical clothing along with wholesome interaction.
