Sturdy and Practical
This is a well made piece of kit , has even stood fast during the biblical storms of late .Definite two person job,to put together and install but once in situ it's easy to use and is super durable .Good price compared to others too

Great Price, Great Product.
My first cover lifter was screwed into tub cabinet and was provided by supplier. The inevitable happened and it ripped itself free but thankfully caused minimal damage. After looking online and fact that this lifter is not attached, it seemed ideal. Price was super as others are advertising at +£200. Arrived earlier than expected, told 3rd to 5th December and arrived on 1st. Initial impression - appears well made and simple to put together. I was able to slide under hot tub when it was empty but I would recommend 2 adults as I did struggle on my own. I spent a fair bit of time lining everything up before screwing the tubes together and used a screwdriver bit in a drill as there are 15 self tapping screws to lock all tubes together. After a few days use, I think its easier to open and close by moving the centre of the lid, it can be done from inside or outside tub.I have a 7ft tub and really pleased with lifter, it comes with a 5 yr guarantee.Update April 2017, had occasion to contact supplier. Super customer service. Can't fault it, no hassle. Thanks.

If you have the sort of tub where it is ...
If you have the sort of tub where it is possible to slip the hinge securing plates under the framework (when the tup is empty), then this is the one. Adjusts to suit your tub size. Can be opened and closed by one person: to open, after flapping the cover back in half, just push it away from you as you get in the tub, and it slides into the parked position. To close, just lift the bottom edges of the hanging cover and push up and over the tub. There are several makes of similar design. This is the cheapest I could find, and it works perfectly.

Broke within 3 months
One of the bars bent and broke within 3 months of installation. Amazon are going to replace it, hopefully it was a faulty product

Not ideal....
This was very easy to install, but some the 18" distance is misleading. Which I suspeceted. You need 18" when open, but, to open it, you need more than 18". If there is a wall within 18", good luck. I have 20" of clearance. But the top needs to slide and pivot some, then it ends using the 18". It is not very sturdy. I admit half of our cover is a little water logged (not bad, but slightly heavier than the dry side), and it does not comfortably open it from one side. It twists. I would return it, but I am going to add some hydraulic ram assists which will make it good. With two people, it opens well, but, then who needs an opener? "Rock it" is a bit misleading...."pull, slide, and rock it" is more accurate.

Perfect lifter
In reading the reviews, I can see that many people don't understand the concept of this lifter. The weight of the hot tub will hold the plates in place, but only if you are on a level surface. If you have installed your hot tub improperly and it is not on the level surface, the tub will not rest securely on the plate. As far as the cover sticking up behind the tub… If you look at the length of your tub as opposed to the height of your tub there is going to be that much difference sticking up. If you have a 34 inch high hot tub and your cover is 86" x 86" , once it is folded in half you are still going to have 12 inches or more sticking up because the cover itself, even when folded in half, is more than the height of the tub. You generally need 18 inches of clearance behind the tub for this to work properly. It is a great product. The only lifter we recommend to our customers also.

So easy to install and works perfectly
There is a youtube video that shows how to install with slightly different instructions. I suggest watching and following the youtube directions. Tthe basic difference is when to attach the bars to the plates that slide under the tub. I was able to install mine easily WITHOUT draining the tub. My tub is sitting on a concrete pad. I used a wood chisel and a rubber mallet to lift the tub just enough to slide the plates under the tub. It doesn't take much as they are very thin. I think a decent flathead screwdriver would even work Also, as someone else mentioned, use a ratchet instead of the supplied wrenches. All in all, it was very simple to install, and the directions were pretty clear and obvious. And most importantly, it's working like a champ. The ONLY downside I see to this lift is that the cover sits up slightly higher over the edge of the tub, but that's totally dependent on the dimensions of your tub. I highly recommend this lift system, especially for the price!

Awesome Cover Holder
The rock it is awesome. It makes getting in our hottub so quick and easy. The cover just flips off and rocks to the back. I could not be happier with it.

Won't last. Not worth it.
Worked great at first but didn't last. The metal pole is weak and bent within a few uses. We will have to purchase a better one. Would not recommend.
