I originally got this monitor to use with my laptop, and it's been awesome. It connected right away—no setup headaches—and extended my screen perfectly. The video quality is super crisp, and the colors are bright and sharp, which really surprised me for something this thin and portable. Also, it uses very little power and is environment friendly because of it. While I do use it occasionally with my laptop on the go, I mainly picked it up as a compact second screen for podcasting and teaching. It’s the perfect size to keep nearby while I’m recording or doing video playback when I teach. I didn’t want something bulky, and this really fits the bill. It’s slim, light, and just works wherever I set it up. If you’re looking for an easy, high-quality second screen that travels well and plays nice with laptops or desktops, I’d definitely recommend it. It’s quickly become part of my regular setup.

I purchased the portable monitor on October 13th and have used it for just over a month before an issue with the monitor screen appeared. I bought this to supplement my 27-inch Apple Studio Display. The 3K resolution was perfect for the Mac retina resolution as the 2880 x 1800 pixels are displayed as 900 x 1440 pixels with a 216 ppi vs. 218 ppi for the 27-inch Apple Studio Display. The display is sharp for both text and images. The color rendition was at par with my Studio Display when set to Display P3 color profile. Bonus is that you can have refresh rate as high as 120 Hz. The monitor is hooked up via a single USB-C cable to a Thunderbolt 4 dock USB-C socket (15W) for both data and power. I bought a separate VESA 75mm tabletop stand to mount the monitor and placed it next to the Studio Display. Set up looks better (and way cheaper) than buying a 32-inch 6K display (like ones from LG and of course, Apple). I mainly use the extended display for my Finder and for file navigation and management, with some widgets placed above the Finder. The first monitor I bought did have an issue with the screen having dark red large patches of pixelations at one corner. I contacted UPerfect directly since it was passed one month when I bought from Amazon. The customer service person responded very quickly and provided a UPS return postage to mail the monitor back. As soon as they received the defective monitor, a new one was sent via Amazon and received within 2 days. This new unit has been working fine with no issue with the screen, although I've only used this for a couple of weeks. Time will tell if I get the same issue or not. Overall I'm happy with the monitor (thin, light, retina resolution, easily powered by USB-C) and with customer service for quickly resolving the issue with the original unit. Highly recommended!

Use Case: I'm using this monitor as a second, OLED, monitor for my 14" MacBook Pro (mbp). The monitor is a near-ideal size for placing above my mbp on a telescoping stand. This allows for me to use my mbp camera and still appear as if I'm staring at the camera, instead of looking down/away. The monitor fits nicely in the same size travel bags as my mbp. Another option is to place the monitor on top of the mbp keyboard/trackpad, when using external keyboard/mouse/trackpad. The replacement monitor, see "Caveat", runs well at 120 Hz with HDR and either the full 3880x1800 or HiDPI (1440x900). Just make sure you're using quality USB4 with data and power delivery. Caveat: The first monitor I received produced a noise--especially when gaming--at idle that was quite annoying, also it wouldn't run @120 Hz with HDR and full 3k res--only offering 100 Hz (on USB-C cable) in macOS Tahoe. After speaking with customer support, they were extremely helpful, and prompt--considering time delay from HK to the US, in resolving, sending out a replacement monitor quickly, and providing a return shipping label for the initial monitor. Pros: - Great size and weight for maximum portability without compromising on quality. - Fits in existing 14" laptop bags. - Good quality OLED panel supporting 120Hz (S/HDR) at 3k or HiDPI 3k. - Games, albeit on my mbp, look good and smooth @ 120 Hz. - The built-in stand is only 2-3" wide in the middle, instead of on the edges, which a lot of portable monitors have. In-betwixt: - Speakers are there, but nothing to "write home about", which is to kind of be expected. - Use of micro HDMI, instead of full sized HDMI slot, but would have added thickness. - Reduced to 100 Hz when using HDMI (can be mitigated by using USB-C). - Will default to 20% Brightness if there's not a enough power delivery to the monitor, i.e. insufficient power delivery cable from laptop to monitor. Cons: - There's noise at idle from the fans venting at the bottom; the noise can increase to more of a coil whine noise when playing games. May not be an issue for others, but something to keep in mind. - HDR, in macOS Tahoe is a little too white/washed out for me, but perhaps I was missing something in the settings to correct. - A little pricey, but, currently, not many other options for these specs. I cannot, in good conscience, give this monitor a 5-star rating, due to the noise issue I experienced. I feel this a personal concern that many others will not have, or even notice. UPERFECT's support has been extremely responsive, helpful, and accommodating throughout this process. If you're highly sensitive to specific frequencies, then maybe look elsewhere, or take a chance; however, if you're not, there's not a better option, for these requirements, on the market, right now. I've decided to keep mine--doing my best to ignore/wash out the noise--as it works great otherwise.

Review after 6 months of usage: Very good price for the 3k Oled screen. Bright and great contrast. Can be powered through a USBC port if your main displays support usb c power output. Work well with Macbook but need to plug into a power source. The screen has a small defect after 6 months (not sure if is burn in). But the post purchase support is professional and willing to replace it with a new one.
