For some unknown reason I have access to grownup money, so when I saw this for sale on Prime day I decided that this would be a great addition to the home gym I only sometimes use. It was delivered within a week of ordering it, which was a really nice surprise. My husband tells me it was easy to set up, I wouldn’t know because I wasn’t there, but take that with a grain of salt because he’s a building genius. If you’re a bit of a dumb dumb like me then I can confirm it’s easy to find someone on Task Rabbit to look at you like you’re an idiot for not being able how to figure out how to put this together. In terms of use, I’m a former yoga instructor but my body is a trashy bag of loose bones thanks to hypermobile Ehlers Danlos syndrome. They say that Pilates is the best exercise for my gimpy ass, and I am be easily influenced so here we are. I’ve never taken a single Pilates class. This reformer is very beginners friendly, and I dare say after watching a few TikTok’s I am basically a Pilates prodigy. There are also a ton of free classes on YouTube. It’s easy to tinker around with the springs for varying tensions, and I haven’t snapped my finger once in the coils (which honestly is saying something). Think of the reformer as a horizontal cable machine, you can very easily get a full body workout in not that long of time. This machine in particular is sleek, does not take up a ton of room, is light weight as well as sturdy. I got it in all black.

Update: Rating changed from 2 to 4 stars. The supplier replaced the shoulder pads. The original shoulder pads were a bit flimsy - lacking proper padding. The replacement shoulder pads, of the same design, had more padding on them, especially at the top. Maybe there was a construction or quality issue with the original ones? A replacement bumper stop was also sent. After an initial delay in responding, the supplier responded quickly to remedy both issues and was easy to deal with. I've been using the unit daily for several weeks now and have found it to be better than expected. It is strong and sturdy enough that I have done standing leg exercises on it. Smooth and quiet movement. I do recommend it. Pros: Sturdy, heavier than expected (not a bad thing). Cons: Shoulder pads are a bit flimsy, not a high-quality high-density foam and not enough of it. There is an obvious lack of padding, especially at the top. If you have to do an exercise that requires you to hold onto the shoulder pads, you will be challenged with the lack of padding here. Being round shoulder pads, they do not spread out the weight onto your shoulders like square shoulder pads would. After awhile, that single point of impact on your shoulders starts to hurt. Foldable, but not easily foldable. You have to go under the unit and completely disassemble two bumper stops in order to fold/unfold the unit properly. Best to lay the unit on its side before trying to fold. Being heavy, these two issues make it tedious to want to put the unit away. Don’t know if this is the same for other foldable units. Received a damaged bumper that is needed to stand the unit up after folding. Requested a replacement, was notified it would be sent, but have yet to receive notice of it being shipped. Will update my feedback rating if it arrives.

Received my reformer last month and so far so good! No, it's not a heavy duty commercial unit(so don't expect it to be), but you can't beat the price for what you get. I also got the jumpboard, a great benefit if you like cardio. The carriage is a little shorter than I am used to, so if you are tall(and I am not), you may need something longer so check the dimensions. Folds pretty easy and has wheels which is great. In addition to the springs, it also has colored bands for different tensions which commercial units do not have. I am actually going to make a video on youtube for the set up since the vendors only have the paper instructions and I am a visual learner so I thought it may help others :)

I’ll begin with the assemblement: putting the machine together wasn’t too hard. Except for step #19!!! I wish there was a how-to video because I STRUGGLED. But as a noob, I did well, and I finished assembling everything. Moving on to usage: as a beginner with low strength, it’s a good machine. However, once my strength reaches a certain point, I will need more weight resistance, and I can’t really add more weight resistance to this machine. Not to my knowledge, anyway. Positives: it was worth the purchase, I think. Drawbacks: my machine came with uneven pull straps, as shown in photos, so using this machine can be awkward at times, since they’re uneven. And there isn’t a way to adjust those lengths, not to my knowledge anyway.

I thought this was a great product at first. I used it for a few weeks and was very happy. Then one day something was wrong, it stopped gliding smoothly like there was a lump the wheels were rolling over. I looked under the machine and saw one of the wheels was broken. The rubber had pulled off the wheel and was twisted. I contacted the seller and complained. After a lot of back and forth we agreed to them shipping replacement parts and seeing if that would fix the issue. It took almost three weeks to get the replacement wheels. When we got them we had to practically take the whole machine apart to get to the wheel to replace it. I tested the machine and it seemed fixed. A day later I used it and it was fine. Two days later I used it again and the new wheel broke AGAIN. This is not worth the trouble and hassle. I wish I had spent more money on a better machine versus trying to save a buck.

So sturdy. Save yourself some money. Buy this and YouTube some exercises. Same results. Fraction of the price.

Super easy set up. I’m 4’10 and set this up myself with no issues. It did not originally come with the hand bar but customer service was super friendly and helpful and got the missing part sent
