I did not purchase this light for its therapeutic effects, and cannot speak to those claims. I purchased it because I suffer from low vision, in particular a loss of contrast. I find myself dreading sunset and cloudy days. My hope was that this light, used as a reading lamp, would enable me to easily see and read in those conditions. And so it does.It was so easy to assemble that I didn’t even have to look at the instructions. It comes with the only tool I needed. I love that it has a tilt feature, a choice of four brightness settings, and a handy timer so that I can set it for automatic shut off in 15, 30, 45 or 60 minutes. I also love that it can be removed from the arm and hung on a wall or placed on a tabletop supported by the kickstand.In my opinion this is a very thoughtfully designed light that has completely changed my attitude about the weather or time of day. If I had three wish’s it would be that I had known about it sooner, that it was on a swivel base and that it could be detached from the arm without having to remove the four screws.

This is an awesome phototherapy lamp. It has a nice big bulb so it doesn't take significant effort to get angling or exposure and fits well into my existing desk setup. The various settings are nice, but I use it primarily in the winters for light therapy and it exceeds in that role. If you browse the internet, you'll find this brand and model is generally rated very well compared to similarly price competitors and my experience is the same.Don't forget to check your benefits to see if you qualify to submit your purchase for reimbursement! That's my biggest tip when it comes to these lamps!

I decided to purchase a lamp to help brighten the dark days of winter. This past winter was exceptional cold and dreary. I really enjoyed sitting by it while drinking my morning coffee. It did seem to add a ray of sunshine to the start of my day. Even my fur baby enjoyed sitting near it. I highly recommend this lamp to anyone that may find their winters affecting their moods. You can adjust the brightness and even set a timer on it as well. Really great purchase!

I guess it's what it's sold for, but we find it very glary and don't like using it. Wish I could still return it. I do like that I can adjust the intensity down, but still doesn't feel good even on lower setting.

Great unit! I wasn't sure it would help but light levels truly make a difference! Not only is this perfect for setting yourself up right for winter but it is an excellent project light! I've secured mine to a large easel for both practical and aesthetic purposes. Highly recommend the investment.

I never write reviews but felt like I had to for this product, because I'm shocked that the current reviews are mostly positive. There are two issues:1: The 'adjustable stand' is defective. The light panel weighs too much for the stand, so it will not stay in the position you choose, instead always sliding down to a lower position.2: It has a terrible, plastic, toxic smell to it. This is especially noticeable when sitting close to it, as you're supposed to do, but it is strong enough that it will stink up whatever room it is sitting in almost unbearably. I don't know but would assume that this is VOC off gassing, and thus not just an annoyance but a potential health risk. I've given this 3 days hoping the smell would diminish, but it hasn't at all, and I have now packed up the item for return because I can't stand it any more.You can find other people with these issues if you search around a bit, so I don't think I simply received a defective unit. I would guess they cut corners on the manufacturing to an extreme degree, despite the high price of this product.

The light itself is great but the plastic it is made of puts off an odor that is still lingering almost a month later. Makes me wonder if smell is harmful? I plan on contacting Carex.
