Q: Approximately how many cherries are in the can?

I just separated the 6.6lbs. can into 8 jars. There were 388 cherries + 6 mashed up ones.

Q: When do these expire?

When I opened my large can I divided the cherries and liquid evenly among a dozen or so mason jars. I didn't formally "can" them using heat, etc. but simply left a bit of an air gap at the top of the jar for expansion and froze them. After two years I am now working on the last few jars and they as good as the day I first opened the can. I simply defrost a jar as I need cherries and life is good. To top it off, I kept one of the small Luxardo cherry jars from my firt purchase and transfer the cherries from the mason jars to the Luxardo jar and voila it's just like a purchased a new Luxardo jar! Enjoy, Luxardo are the best.

Q: Can you deep freeze them after opening to keep them longer?

I wouldn't risk freezing them. But take it from me as a single guy who bought the 6 pound can and make maybe 2 cocktails (that require marashino cherries) a week...once opened, they stay preserved in the refridgerator a (very) long time. The next 6-pound can I buy, I will strain the "high sugar content" syrup out of them and immerse them in mason jars with Luxardo Marashino Liquor.

Q: Can the seller respond? what is expiration date on these cans? noted they can't be returned. smaller jars in store expire december 2024.

I ordered the big can in June 2018. From my research, determined they did not need refrigeration. I did repackage in Mason jars and put in the pantry. Now, over 2.5 years later(Sept. 2020) almost done with them and will be getting another large can. They have not gone bad in Mason jars in the pantry.
