You need some type of protection!
Why did you pick this product vs others?:I’m not the most safety conscious guy you’ll ever meet, after all, I was raised when it was ok to ride in an open bed pickup and drink from the garden hose. So after years of taking chances, I decided to play it safe and at least protect my arms when I’m welding and since I usually wear heavy gloves, decided I needed something heavy duty for my arms. These are exactly what I was looking for. They are made of heavy duty genuine leather and even though I have large muscular arms, they still fit very good. I highly recommend using these when you’re doing anything that might injure your arms, not just welding.

Great for picking blackberries
Good for wrapping cane berries and picking blackberries in addition to some regular gloves (with the finger and thumb cut out for picking the blackberries).

Suede leather, but very thin and sloppily made
These are adequate. They fit me, a skinny dude, reasonably well even with a sweatshirt on. If you're really beefy they may constrain your arm movement or not even fit at all. They are stiff enough that with the cuff elastic holding them on at your wrist, they don't fall off your arms and get in your way.The suede leather is nice enough, but it's thin. If you're doing any torch cutting, a stray ball of metal will burn through in no time. The sewing is far from elegant, with threads poking out here and there and the elastic not consistently applied - see the closeups. But hey, it's welding gear, not formal wear.
