Q: Does this work for left handed children?

My son is left handed and hasn't had any issues with this. Is isn't specifically for left handers though. We love the knife it cuts food well and so far there have been no children's skin cut! We've had ours for about a year now.

Q: Could this product be used to help children learn to cut their own dinner?

I bought the knives as part of the equipment needed for some children’s cooking workshops that I was running. The knives are excellent for children to cut with. Children as young as 3 can hold and use them with ease. The knives are sharp enough to cut through vegetables, raw and cooked. Cooked meats should not present any problems. I think they would be a perfect addition.

Q: The serated edge or straight edge, which is better would you suggest for slicing mushrooms and like with? Thank you

Hi Kelly, both would work for mushrooms. I bought both and my little one loves using both of them. The straight edge would be a better buy if you also want to use it for spreading margarine, jams etc.

Q: Could this cut through a whole orange?

Yes. You would need to bare in mind the length of the blade compared to the size of an orange. This blade is used in a sawing motion meaning you would likely need to turn the orange to complete the cut but orange itself round be no problem for this knife. I bought this when my son was about 2 or 3 and he still uses it at age 12 as he is so comfortable with it. Fabulous knife.
