Buy this one!
A few weeks ago I purchased a set of feet (edge binding and stitch in the ditch) off Amazon for about $6. That other foot looks absolutely identical to this one. No visible distinction. But... it already broke 3 needles before I realized that the other foot was just ever-so-slightly too loose where it attached to the shank,so the foot presses against the needle as it comes down. Until the needle just doesn't clear the foot, and snap! When I opened this new 'Distinctive' foot and compared the two, initially I was irked at how identical they look. But when I put the foot on my machine, its perfect. There is zero wiggle. Not on the attachment point and not on the guide itself. It snaps on easily, it is calibrated perfectly, and the Distinctive foot is 100% worth the extra couple bucks. Don't fall for the 'but I can get 2 or even 3 feet for half of what this one costs' logic. You will likely regret it. I haven't sent the other foot back (tho I should) because the other foot in that set works well enough and I don't need it often. Plus, the hassle isn't worth the amount I paid. But I am glad I decided to pursue the more expensive name brand option. This foot will last me a lifetime and it certainly isn't that expensive. I will not hesitate to purchase from the Distinctive brand again. Finally, I am making bias tape (sew tedious 😆) and decided to try out the new foot. Turns out that with the needle in the left hand position the guide is perfect for stitching the tape together. This is the cleanest bias I have ever made. The foot stays aligned perfectly, slides this cotton lawn over the dogs perfectly, and the needle clears sufficiently. Its perfect. Great product!

HIT BUY ON THIS ONE!
Great set! 7 pieces. All function as intended. Great for experienced or beginner in sewing or quilting. All the necessary feet. 1/4" foot is exactly 1/4" from the inside edge of stitching to the outside edge of fabric, with needle in center position. Put the needle to the right and you've got a beautiful scant 1/4". Fabric moves equally under the dual feed foot. Quality product. I will definitely be checking out what else this seller has and buy from them again!

IT WORKS! Great company - thank you so much!
UPDATE 4/25: After my original review Mr. Vac & Mrs. Sew called me up and helped me walk through installing and using my bobbin case. It was installed correctly but thread was immediately bunching around the case when I would sew. Even though it was past my Return Timeline they decided to send me out another bobbin case sure that it would work with my Brother SE-400. They tested the bobbin case to make sure it worked before sending it my way and sent the sample embroidery stitch out along with it. I was very hopeful as I popped it into my machine and VIOLA! IT WORKS! Thank you so much for replacing the defective bobbin case even though you did not have to. I will order from your company again! Thanks again! UPDATE: 4/14 - The company very graciously has decided to send me a replacement bobbin case even though it was outside of my return timeline. I am VERY appreciative of that and I am hoping that all of these other reviewers are correct and somehow I just ended up with a defective product :) I will update again once the replacement is here and I have had a chance to try it out. I'm hopeful and excited! ORIGINAL REVIEW: I purchased this bobbin case so I could have one bobbin meant just for shirring fabric (since the bobbin case tension needs to be adjusted,) and one for all other projects. I received it in Feb. but hadn't had the chance to get back to sewing until March (so some of this is my own fault for not testing it as soon as it came in.) I put it in my machine without changing anything to try it out (I had planned on leaving the tension alone on this one, using it as my main bobbin case, since I had already adjusted the tension on my other case multiple times)... my upper thread does nothing but bunch around it as soon as I start to sew. And I don't mean just a little, either. I am glad I tested it with scrap fabric because it ate a hole in it. I put my old bobbin case back in (kept thread, tension, everything else the same) and works just fine. I tried it again to make sure but the same thing happened. So either I received a defect bobbin case (my sewing machine model is listed in the machines that it works with) or this bobbin does not actually work with the Brother SE-400. I also was leery that it felt so much flimsier and lighter than the original bobbin case (though I cannot attest to that affecting the function at all.)

Fits My Brother Machine
I have a Brother machine and this fit perfectly. There are instructions inside the package to help if you've never used a pintuck foot before. I used this to make pintucks on a doll's blouse and they turned out perfect. I would buy this brand and from this seller again.

Distinctive Binding Foot vs. Brother SA109 Binding Foot
Since I own and have used both products, I'll review both the Brother SA109 Binding Foot and the Distinctive Tape Binding Foot at the same time. This will essentially be a comparison of the two. Both products are about the same price, at the present time there is about a $2 difference, giving a slight edge to Distinctive. Both can be used on most low-shank sewing machines that accept this type of snap-on foot. I've never cut my own binding but have always used bias tape so I cannot state for a fact how either would work for hand-cut binding strips. The construction between the two brands is quite different. The Brother is made completely of metal while the Distinctive is a combination of metal and plastic. Therein lies the biggest difference between the two. The Brother has no adjustment so is limited to a maximum finished size of 1/4" (7mm) while the Distinctive can be adjusted from about 3/8" to 3/4" (5 to 20mm) finished size. Advantage: Distinctive The construction design also has an effect on ease of use. The Distinctive Foot has 2 grooves in the plastic. You place your folded bias tape edges into the groves, adjust for width, snap the foot onto the machine and slide the fabric between the two edges of the binding tape. The Brother design is more like a narrowing funnel. Push the bias tape through the opening until it appears on the other side, snap the foot on the machine, and slide in the fabric. You can, of course, perform the above with either foot on the machine, but I've often found it easier to attach the foot after I've put the binding tape in. With the design difference I've found the Brother foot easier to use. Keeping the bias tape and the fabric correctly aligned was easier and I was able to sew a little faster. If I didn't keep the bias tape and the fabric aligned exactly right when using the Distinctive foot, I had the bias tape come out of the groove. If I was lucky I caught it right away, if not, I would have to remove the stitches and re-do a small section. I think it may be especially problematic if you cut your own binding strips and they aren't pefectly straight. Advantage: Brother. In conclusion, I'm a guy who has taken up quilting as a retirement hobby. I have arthritis and my hands shake a bit so I look for anything that will make things easier for me. I happy I own both the Brother SA109 and the Distinctive Tape Binding Presser Foot, they both work well in different ways. The Brother is easier to use while the Distinctive is more versatile. Neither is perfect, but for me, they are a much better solution than applying bias tape by hand or trying to perfectly fold, iron then sew binding strips into place with a regular presser foot. For that, they each get 4 stars.

Works great. Exactly what we need
I bought this for my wife for her new sewing machine. It works great, is well made, and seems very durable. It helps her keep her hems straight and makes her sewing much easier. (BTW, did you know that it is "presser foot" and not "pressure foot"?) Excellent price and quick delivery

perfect quarter inch
I've been searching for a good quality quarter inch foot for a long time. This feels solid, not flimsy, and the guide bar on the side hasn't bent so far while I'm using it. You can see from the pictures that putting the edge flat to the guide bar measures perfectly to an accurate quarter inch seam on my Singer guide. The scant quarter inch matched the edge of the foot, so the foot edge could be used as a guide for a scant seam if needed. Very glad I chose this one. For reference, I have a Singer 4452.

Worked Flawlessly on my Brother LB6800THRD
► Why I like it: Plain and simple, it makes a tedious task into a piece of cake! I cannot imagine trying to do piping without using such a presser foot. I chose this one over others because it can do either one or two, not just the single piping that others provide. Piping adds that special extra touch. I bought mine before I needed it so that when I do, I will be ready for it. Nothing worse than wishing you had it for the job at hand. ► Settings: Stitch width is suggested to be 0 with length at 1-3. Be sure to use the straight stitch in the CENTER position, otherwise, you will break your needle. ► Pros: Makes a difficult job into a breeze! This particular presser foot will do either single or double piping which makes it a better buy than just the single piping presser feet. Instructions are written inside the packaging. ► Cons: None found. ► Suggestions for Improvement: None. ► Would I buy again? Yes. Worth having in your arsenal of presser feet. ► Purchasing Decision & Questions: I hope I have helped your purchasing decision of this Distinctive Piping Sewing Machine Presser Foot.
