Q: How can it help while showering - isn't it behind the shower curtain when the curtain is closed?

Although it is behind the curtain I can it while showering. My shower curtain is long enough that I can sort of fold the curtain over the grab bar. That way I can use it without pulling the curtain down.

Q: Why a weight limit? Does it matter if it's just being used as something to grab getting out of the shower?

This grab rail has a weight limit because if too much weight is placed on the grab rail it can cause it to snap or break much like anything that too much force is applied to. The weight limit is too ensure that under that weight it will not break.

Q: Any idea on why it can't be used with a fiberglass tub and how do I know if my tub is fiberglass?

A fiberglass tub will crack because of the stress of the weight of the person getting in and out of the tub. If you have a magnet you can see if it will stick to the tub. A metal tub will sound louder when you tap on it, and a fiberglass tub will let’s say feel softer than a metal tub.

Q: i have looked at many like products most have some type of wobbling problem even after tightening to the best of my ability , is there a feature to prevent this?

It has worked very well for us. We have not had to tighten it since we installed it. No problems whatsoever. I rely on it everyday and would recommend it.
