I have been asked to write an unbiased review in exchange for the product being supplied free. It arrived three days after Kurtzy notified me of despatch,in a serviceable padded envelope. There are a great selection of colours and I only found four repeats, a great improvement on most bulk pack offers. The cotton is strong and I needed scissors to cut it, as it wouldn't break by hand. It handled beautifully while working and didn't fluff or fray. It's a finer thread than I normally work with but using a 2.00 mm hook gave a good tension. It will be excellent for making small floral embellishments and textile jewellery components for my designs. It would be a good thread for dolls house carpets too as it holds its shape. The value for money aspect speaks for itself as I rarely see cottons for under a quid per ball. I would definitely recommend this pack to anyone who needs an economical addition to their yarn stash.

Unfortunately, there was a small error in the product description; I clicked 'buy' under the impression that the balls were size (grade) 3. When they arrived two days early, not only did everything seem in perfect order, but was also seemingly packaged with care. I wound 21 onto bobbins and got ready to start my project, and it was only then that I got my (actual) size 3 out, and noticed the difference. The newly-wound bobbins were much closer to size 8, or even size 12, and so the wrong size for my project. Gutted, I got straight on to the seller to let them know, not expecting anything to come of it. But they actually responded very quickly, and were extremely kind, patient and helpful. They gave me a full refund without my asking, and even thanked me for letting them know about the error. The refund wasn't necessary (I would've written it down to the old 'you win some, and you lose some'), but was beyond appreciated. I got the impression that the customer service team really do care about their customers. If the size isn't an issue for you, then I would greatly recommend this product. For the price, there are a great range of colours (two balls for each colour) and the cotton itself is of decent quality. The only reason (beside the aforementioned description error) I had to deduct a star was down to there being several knots in the thread, which were too tight to undo. They weren't too bad, but were noticeable upon close inspection. But, that's only a very minor bug-bear. Two crochet hooks were included, and while I do not crochet myself, they seem sturdy enough. A nice touch!

Loads of blue and orange shades. And yes, there are 21 different colours repeated. It's only 10g each but much thinner than the regular yarn(4-6 crochet hook) so I hope it will work for smaller projects (1-2 crochet hooks) I have just received so I will update the review. I'm thinking of stacking them on a kitchen roll or dish tray... To keep them tidy.

I bought this cotton because i do a lot if crocheting of little amigarumi. I would say that for the money this is a real bargain. If you are wanting top quality crochet cotton, then you need to pay the higher prices. It is very nice and soft, and the colours are vibrant. I received the colours in the photos. I am aware that top dollar crochet cotton can have a bit of a sheen to it, but this is more matt, which is what I was looking for for my projects. It did arrive with a slight odour, probably due to it being kept in a large resealable ziplock soft plastic bag, but this disappeared after opening and letting the air get to it. Very happy with my purchase, would buy it again!

I got all the thread sets on the multi buy deal that also had theicro crochet book. I wanted to try micro crochet after seeing the book and all the motifs. I'm so thrilled I got everything together to try out as I've found I enjoy it a lot more than the usual yarn. It's definitely not for beginners. Although, if you're self taught like me, you'll probably pick up a lot of complicated stitches up quicker with thread as you're working over a smaller area with tighter tension and less "orthodox" ways of crochet. Reading the books said you'd need to train yourself to work this small but I picked it up naturally. I've made tons of stuff so far with all the thread and they've turned out well. The metallic thread is a bit thicker and can be tricky to use at first but it doesn't take much to get used to. The crochet hooks you get with the sets are pretty much redundant if you've crocheted before as you'd have the sizes, and they're too big for the thread. If you like a challenge and what to do something that looks more unusual and more like embroidery, definitely give the sets a go. If you don't like it, you'll definitely find a use for everything.

FOR BEGINNERS TO EXPERTS: This set is perfect to be used if you are new to crochet or if you are an expert. Loads of crochet projects can be made with this set from scarves, blankets, baby boots, pom poms, cowls, hats, squares, flowers, tea cosy, doilies and lace work. These balls can also be used for embroidery or cross stitch Above is the description on this item . I may of read it wrong or maybe I received the wrong item .i found this not suitable to crochet especially as a beginner . I personally think it is more suitable for sewing cotton or embroidery, lacework But to say suitable for crochet projects such as you listed . Maybe as a crochet novice I don’t have skill or vision. BUT I feel as if I’ve been let down by the seller with the description and have just wasted my money for a useless item . I will say the colours are pretty but for me this item is useless . I’m hoping I can return but doubt it as I have tried to crochet with and was almighty FAIL !
