Great cookbook!
If you’ve never heard of the “Zero Points” system for weight loss, it’s referring to the Weight Watchers program for losing weight through eating a low calorie diet that is rich in nutrients. This includes whole foods that are natural and not overly processed like many of the ready-to-eat foods that comprise a large portion of the standard American diet. This book includes a lot of information about the importance of meal prepping that overall cuts down the time you would usually spend preparing meals every day. The book also includes a 30-day meal plan for those who don’t know where to start. At the end of the book, there is a measurement conversion chart and an explanation of the Dirty Dozen and the Clean Fifteen. The Dirty Dozen is a list of produce items that should be purchased from organic or local sources because the commercially grown varieties tend to contain trace amounts of highly hazardous ingredients from pesticides. The Clean Fifteen is a list of produce items that are less at risk for carrying or absorbing these hazardous materials. I make most of my meals at home, so it’s not a hassle for me to try a few of the recipes in a short amount of time. The recipes in this book are easy to make, and I was able to find things that the kids liked as well. The categories in this book are Breakfasts, Fish & Seafood, Beef, Pork, and Lamb, Poultry, Vegetables and Side Dishes, Vegetarian Main Courses, Stews and Soups, and Snacks and Appetizers. I chose several random recipes to try to see how easy they were to make, and how accurate the information is provided about servings per recipe. The recipes I tried are the Cheesy Cream-Filled Muffins, the Zesty Lemon-Blueberry Muffins, the Spicy Jalapeno Cod, the Zesty Air-fried Lemon Salmon, the Ultimate Juicy Grill-proof Burger, the Savory Bacon-fried Cabbage, the Crispy Parmesan Artichokes, the Cheesy Taco Beef Bites, and the Low-carb Cream Cheese Delight. Each recipe includes a list of ingredients needed, prep times and cooking times, and the quantity of servings each meal will feed. This makes it easy to adjust how much you can make when you’re cooking for large groups of people.

Zero points vs. Heart and vessels health
This isn't a cookbook to use daily but only once in awhile or adapt the recipes to lower the fat content. The extreme use of butter, heavy cream, bacon, and cream cheese in the recipes throughout the book will certainly create the environment for cardiac or other blockage issues (I'm not a doctor but just saying)! Yes, I know it has 30-Days meal plan, I wouldn't! Look at the high fat content! For instance, the "Creamy" Ranch Chicken Bake calls for 8oz of full-fat cream cheese AND 8 slices of bacon AND 1/2 Cup cheddar cheese. The creamy peanut butter keto fudge squares uses 1 stick of butter and 8 oz cream cheese and 1 cup of unsweetened peanut butter. You then get 1 fudge square worth 24 g of fat. Not sure how any of this in the book is zero points. The good aspect is that it has recipes for air fryer and Instant Pot with the use of, that's right more oil (some recipes with healthy oil like olive oil). How about this recipe to wash down your already heavily laden with fat recipes...the Frothy Butter Coffee Bliss with 1/2 tablespoon of butter and 1/2 tablespoon of MCT oil that you combine with coffee and milk and drink!!! Or the recipe for a mug biscuit using both butter and avocado oil for a whopping 17g of fat for 1 microwaved mug biscuit!! Watch your heart and vessels in using this book. Best to use this book only occasionally or adapt the recipes for a more heart and vessel healthy you. Not worth going zero points if health is compromised.
