Great pad but stirrups not for taller riders
Firstly and most important, the stirrup "leathers" (nylon webbing) are not for tall adults or even average height who ride with long stirrups. I am 5'2" and I had the stirrups at the last (longest) hole. I do admit I ride with them long, but I by no means have long legs. I am used to always moving stirrups up to the top hole, never the bottom. I bought this to use on my swayback horse, getting a saddle to fit him even with swayback pads has been a challenge. Bareback has been the best option I found, however being short if I need to get off I have to find something to stand on to get back on which is why I chose a bareback pad with stirrups and a breast collar. I am able to mount using this pad, however not everyone will be able to. If you are quick to mount while keeping your body close you may get minimal sliding of the pad and the breast collar helps to support it a bit, however if you have physical issues or are inexperienced and you tend to pull your saddle on mounting, no bareback pad with stirrups will work, you need the support of a tree to compensate.Although I really do like this pad I would caution against using the stirrups for balance on this or any bareback pad. Without a tree, your weight in the stirrups is concentrated over the 2 inch strap your girth and stirrups are attached to, which could cause discomfort for your horse. This is why I ride with long stirrups, they are long enough for me to keep them from flopping around but I am not placing weight into them. Also another note, after a long ride the ring that the stirrups attaches to might start bug you, but right now they have no been a problem because of the amount of padding they sorta just stink in.Overall the pad seems to be good quality and allows me to give my older horse mental and physical stimulation, now we can head out on the trail again and not come back with horse hair and sweat covered jeans or have to worry about getting back on if I have to dismount.I have had 2 rides so far, I'll try to update if something changes. Just 4 stars due to short stirrups, although it works for me, anyone else would feel like a jockey riding, putting too much pressure across that strap.

Made for Smaller Horses
I have a 15.3hh Appendix. She’s has a thin build. The pad and girth fit her really well. The breastplate, however, just barely fit her! I was surprised due to her petite build, but luckily it just barely fit. Overall, comfy bareback pad that doesn’t slip.

Hilason Western Horse Size Tan Suede Leather Bareback Pad, breast plate and girth
Love this equipment. The equipment is sturdy and well made. We had to punch holes so it would fit our coming 3 year old Vanner Cob cross. With the extra holes it is a better fit on her. Still a little big. She is still a little bit too small for the equipment. She weighs around 650 lbs, still has a year's growth to go and fill out, then it will fit her perfectly. We can use a pony girth until then. We are at the process of go forward with a light rider on her back and stop.

Dangerous
I loved it when I got it and took it out of the box.it was very heavy and looked well made. However the very 1st ride the girth kept coming undone. It came undone 5 or 6 times. My friend kept having to get off her horse and reattach my girth. Every time it happened in a trot and lope. Finally my friend had to tie it around the buckle to make it stay. Not safe.

Love this pad!
I was looking everywhere to find a bareback pad with a breast collar so I was super stoked to find this one! It's super comfy! The only issues I have is that the breast collar is a little big for my little arabian mare. It would be nice if they offered it in a pony/arab size but I think if I just punch another hole or two it should fit pretty good. The only other thing is that sometimes the metal rings for the removable stirrups will bruise the inside of my knees if i'm on an intense trail ride. I try to avoid gripping there now lol. I might just cut off the rings since I do love this pad alot. I haven't used the stirrups yet. I will update when I do. Overall I do think it's worth it! I've gotten lots of compliments on it as well!
