Q: how wide is the slot?

Not wide enough to fit a regular sliced bagel. I am very disappointed.

Q: Is the pink a muted beigy pink or even a mauvy pink? The pictures are all different. It doesn't look like the standard buble gum pink.

Its a muted Pink. But the so called wide slots can not fit a bagel. I am very disappointed in so many ways.

I’ve only toasted thick, dense bread and used a high setting to get what I wanted. I don’t know about lighter weight bread, but it does adjust time-wise. Hope someone else responds who has experienced what you’re asking about. Although this toaster is very attractive & works fine, it is not a high-end/all-the-bells-&-whistles species!
