KAISHSet of 2 Wilkinson Lic Zebra Humbucker Pickups with Cream Pickup Frame High Quality

Bought these for a project guitar - a fairly cheap Epiphone Les Paul VE II which already sounded decent for the price I paid. Delivery took around 2 weeks, give or take a day or two - which is fine given that they're being shipped from China (I believe).First, these pickups look fantastic and feel quality and well made. The really stand out against the worn cherry body with the cream covers offering a nice contrast which is visually quite striking, so top marks just for looks.Fitting them was fairly easy, too - no problems, all of the screw holes on the covers lined up perfectly and they were easy to screw into place, soldering was easy enough, in all it took me less than an hour to remove the old pups and fit these.Now for the tone ...I honestly didn't expect too much from ceramics although I'd heard and read good things about the Wilkinson m-series pickups - after some tinkering and height adjustment I got these to sound honestly quite fantastic. You get nice, crisp and crunchy sound from the bridge and really deep, warm tones from the neck which is my favourite position to play. These would be ideal for blues/rock and even more harsher metal sounds with a bit of gain/overdrive. I threw on a playlist of backing tracks on YouTube to have a proper go at this and before I knew it I'd been playng for a few hours and was really getting into the groove, they're quite lovely.Nice, warm bluesy tones, very responsive and a huge improvement on the sustain. As I said, the old pickups on this guitar were fairly okay given the cost of the instrumet (around £150) but these really make the guitar sound and feel like a much better instrument - since fitting these I honestly have grown to appreciate this guitar even more, it's very fun to play! All I need now is to upgrade the tuners, nut and possibly the pots and this guitar will be an absolute powerhouse of an instrument...very pleased.So, in summary - highly reccomend as an upgrade for lower end guitars. Great price, look amazing and sound even better, at this price (£25 or thereabouts) you really can not go wrong, they're fantastic!
