I thoroughly enjoyed this DVD - seeing how they do the program, enjoying the humor, and it's great to see the musicians playing all this great music.

As a long-time listener to A Prairie Home Companion, I really enjoyed this glimpse into the show as only video can do. I love the stories and the music! Together with the Hollwood movie by the same name, you have a most enjoyable entertainment experience and feel even closer to the folks who have entertained America for decades with good, clean humor and music. I long ago turned off my radio due to the lack of decent music and entertainment - with this one exception! If you like the radio version, you will love the video and will watch it over and over.

If you like Keillor, you will enjoy the wholesome entertainment, great music and 'corny' but good humour.

I bought this without reading the description properly; I thought it was a CD. Don't really need to "see" Garrison Keillor doing his shtick but still enjoyable listening...

A PRAIRIE HOME COMPANION IS A WONDER. THE SPIRIT OF THE RADIO BASED SHOW HAS BEEN CAPTURED WELL.I'M SO HAPPY THAT THE ORIGINAL CAST WAS USED AS WELL AS LILY TOMLIN, MERYL STREEP, JOHN C. REILLY AND WOODY HARRISON. THEY HAVE ADDED TO THEIR STATURE CONSIDERABLY WITH THEIR PERFORMANCES.AS A TWENTY YEAR LISTENER TO THE SHOW, IT IS A PLEASURE TO WATCH THE SHOW FROM AN IMAGINARY BACKSTAGE PERSPECTIVE.WELL DONE, ALL INVOLVED

We loved the film with Meryl Streep and Woody Harrelson and really enjoyed watching this live recording.

This is one of my favourite "comfort" movies. The actors all do a wonderful job of making their characters real. The interactions between the characters is convincing and certainly not pretentious. One imagines that Garrison Keillor managed to portray his long running radio show in just the light he intended. I do have to confess a weakness for any movie where Meryl Streep sings. The cast was well suited to their parts and the action had good dynamics. A nice dose of sentimentality without coming close to being mawkish.
