Good blade
Good blade for the money. No complaints.

Just the right fit.
Finding a comfortable handle on a blade isn’t easy.I LOVE the feel, and grip this has. Blade was straight and shaved the forearm right out of the box. Put it thru the ringer with a couple “campsite tests”, held its edge well, and didn’t snap.I’m about to order 2 more for the wife and daughter. This seems like a reliable blade.

CRKT Kukri
Bought this kukri a few weeks ago to polish off firewood of branches too small or unimportant for a chainsaw. I've used it moderately several times now, and this is what I've found:Pros:*The rubber handle is very nice. It provides a great grip, even with gloves. It is also very good at absorbing vibration where previous machetes I've used weren't.*The blade held an edge well, and hasn't bent or chipped. It is very stout, and I chose this kukri partially for that very reason. I wanted a thick (-er) blade that wouldn't up and bend on me.Cons:*The black coating over the blade is starting to rub off where I've done most of the chopping. Based upon what I've seen of other blades on this website chipping, bending, and sometimes breaking in half; if this is the worst that happens I'm happy.*The sheath is nice, but the belt attachment area could use a little work. You can still loop a belt through it, but it almost seems like they weren't really trying to make a belt loop, if that makes sense. Perhaps I'm just not doing something right. That being said, it still suits me just fine.*It's a little complicated to one-hand draw and sheath, but I'm working on it and it is somewhat doable after a fair bit of practice.Bottom Line: I shelled out a little more than I was intending to for this, but it was well worth it. Especially for moderate usage. Would purchase again.

Good blade for the money, but could be better
So, I have owned a CRKT Tomahawk for about 10 years now, and it's one of the most dependable backpacking/outdoor tools I've ever owned. When I started to look for a machete, I was pleased to find that CRKT made something that fit what I was looking for, and purchased this without a second thought. My disappointment comes in the quality of the grinds on the KUK. The grind on the spine is VERY asymmetric, and overall the blade feels rather flimsy in comparison to the construction of my Tomahawk. I don't know if it's a change in production standards, material, or design, but overall construction seems like it has room for improvement. I feel confident using force with my Tomahawk, but that is where the KUK falls short. It's a sharp blade, it feels strong, but it doesn't instill that confidence that I can power though some thick brush and not have it break. That being said, the knife performes fairly well. I spent a whole day using it to clear tall overgrown grass, brush, and thick thorn bushes (about a half inch to an inch diameter) and the edge heald up really well. No major deformation and a very minor roll. Cleaned right up with one swipe on a quick sharpener.I'd like to see how this holds up with use over time, and may provide an update to my review later.Pros:good weight and balanceGood edge retentionComfortable gripCons:Asymmetrical grinds on bladeFeels somewhat fragile compared to other CRKT products

Rusts too easily
I understand that when metal gets water on it and isn't dried in a timely manner, it rusts..this item could use some blade oil on it, before it gets delivered.

Comfortable
I already own 2 machetes but I wanted to try a kukri.I wanted to get a “real” heavy duty kukri from Condor. However, with 2 in college and no real need for a heavier chopper - I got the lighter, value oriented crkt kuk.I choose the crkt kuk over other kukris because I like the comfortable handle on the crkt halfachance. A cold steel kukri machete costs less but I was ok with paying more to get a better handle.I’ve only used it twice so far to chop up smaller branches (2” or less) in the yard to put in the green waste bin. I’m not an outdoorsman....it’s just for yard work....and fondling :-)It’s light, compact and comfortable to use on small branches. It’s like a mini machete.(For the larger branches, I use an electric chainsaw)My current preference is kuk > halfachance machete > latin machete (hard handle)Looks pretty unique/cool too when compared to plain machete). If I lost it, I’d buy another one even though I already have 2 perfectly fine machetes that fill my needs.(I’ll ask my family to get me the Condor for my bday/xmas)

Damn fine knife
Had it going on a year and not a daily user but have split logs, cut brush, trees and a couple pallets and blade is straight and other than nick from a nail it's doing great. My first kukri and it is a nice do-all size for camping and putting out game cameras etc.. Takes edge well and holds it as good as can be expected for the abuse it has taken. Do take care to clean and oil or at least remove moisture. Not quick to rust but it is not stainless steel.
